BOROUGH OF TE AROHA
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Te Aroha Borough Council Housing Loan No. 1, 1953, £1,200
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that at a special meeting
of the Te Aroha Borough Council held on the 22nd day
of September 1953 the following resolution was passed:
In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it
by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926 and of all other powers
in that behalf enabling it, the Te Aroha Borough Council
hereby resolves:
“(a) That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of the half-yearly instalments of principal and interest in respect of the Te Aroha Borough Council Housing Loan No. 1, 1953, £1,200, authorized to be raised by the Te Aroha Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal nought eight eight seven two pence (0·088872d.) in the pound on all rateable property in the Borough of Te Aroha on the basis of the unimproved value, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable annually on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, during a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
“(b) That the Council doth hereby appropriate and pledge as security for the payment of the said loan the annually recurring special rate of decimal nought eight eight seven two pence (0·088872d.) in the pound on all rateable property in the Borough of Te Aroha on the basis of the unimproved value made and levied by the Council by resolution duly passed on the 22nd day of September 1953.”

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Electrical Extension Loan 1953, £200,000
THE Christchurch City Council at a meeting held on the 5th day of October 1953 passed the following resolution:
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and its amendments and all other powers it in that behalf enabling, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:
“‘That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of two hundred thousand pounds (£200,000) authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of extending the distribution system and electrical reticulation within the Christchurch City Council’s licensed area of supply, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three hundred and one thousand two hundred and fifty-seven / one million two hundred and fifty thousandths of a penny (301,257/1,250,000d.) in the pound (£0·00100419) on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the City of Christchurch, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable on demand in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’”

NOTICE is hereby given that Macarthy's Brewery, Limited, has changed its name to T. G. Macarthy, Limited, and that the new name was this day entered in my Register of Companies in place of the former name.
