WAIPAWA COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Main Highways Loan 1925, £45,000, Instalment No. 4 of £5,940

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Waipawa County Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of five thousand nine hundred and forty pounds being part of a loan of forty-five thousand pounds (£45,000) authorized to be raised by the Waipawa County Council for providing the Council’s contribution under the Main Highways Act 1922 towards the construction or reconstruction of the main highways in the County of Waipawa, for providing the necessary plant and machinery for same, and providing funds to erect bridges and culverts in the said County, the said Waipawa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of thirty-six one-hundredths (36/100ths) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the County of Waipawa; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 15th day of August in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

And it is further resolved:

‘‘That the said rate so made and levied as is hereinabove provided shall be in confirmation of a rate for the same amount and for the same or similar purposes made and levied by the Council on the 11th day of May 1925 and confirmed by a resolution of the Council dated the 14th day of October 1940 and 10th day of July 1950.’’

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of resolution passed at a meeting of the Waipawa County Council on Monday, 10th August 1953.

INDUSTRIAL ASSETS, LIMITED

IN LIQUIDATION

In the matter of the Companies Act 1933, and in the matter of INDUSTRIAL ASSETS, LIMITED (in liquidation.)

  1. At an extraordinary meeting of shareholders of the above company held at Auckland on the 14th day of September 1953 the following resolution was passed as an extraordinary resolution:

‘‘That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue in business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily and that a liquidator be appointed for the purposes of winding-up, and that Mr W. A. E. LEONARD, of Auckland, Public Accountant, be appointed liquidator of the company.’’

  1. At a meeting of creditors of the above-named company held at Auckland on the 14th day of September 1953, Mr W. A. E. LEONARD, of Auckland, Public Accountant, was appointed liquidator of the company without a committee of inspection.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

The Wellington City Works Loan 1953 of £75,000

THE following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on the 15th day of September 1953:

In pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and its amendments the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of seventy-five thousand pounds (£75,000) to be known as the Wellington City Works Loan 1953 of £75,000, authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of reconstructing and improving streets, water-mains, reserves, and improving and extending the Karori Library, the Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of forty-five eight-hundredths of a penny (45/800d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LANDS

Waipaoa River Flood Control Scheme

NOTICE is hereby given that the Poverty Bay Catchment Board, acting under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928 and the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, proposes to take the lands described in the Schedule hereto for a public work, namely for river control purposes.

Notice is further given that plans of the lands required to be taken are deposited in the office of the Board at 16 Childers Road, Gisborne, and are open for inspection by all persons during office hours.

All persons affected by the taking of such lands or by the execution of such public works who have any well founded ground of objection thereto must state their objection in writing and deliver the same to the Secretary of the Poverty Bay Catchment Board at the Board’s offices within forty days from the first publication of this notice.
