The Lower Hutt Licensing Trust Constitution Notice 1953
PURSUANT to the Local Licensing Trusts Regulations 1949,* the Minister of Justice hereby gives the following notice.
NOTICE
-
This notice may be cited as the Lower Hutt Licensing Trust Constitution Notice 1953.

There is hereby constituted a local licensing Trust, to be called the Lower Hutt Licensing Trust.

(1) The first election of members of the Trust shall be held on Saturday, the 31st day of October 1953.
(2) The Returning Officer for the first election of members of the Trust shall be Clifton MacDonald Turner, Town Clerk of the Lower Hutt City Council.

The area within which polls shall be taken for elections of members of the Trust shall be the whole of the area within the boundaries of the City of Lower Hutt as from time to time constituted.

The area within which the Trust may expend or distribute profits pursuant to subsection (1) of section 44 of the Licensing Trusts Act 1949 shall be the whole of the area within the boundaries of the City of Lower Hutt as from time to time constituted.

Results of Elections by Fire-insurance Companies to Fill Extraordinary Vacancies on the Hawera and Stratford Fire Boards and the Inglewood Fire Committee
PURSUANT to the Fire Services Act 1949, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby gives notice of the following results of the elections held on 15 September 1953 by the fire-insurance companies carrying on business in New Zealand to fill extraordinary vacancies on the Hawera and Stratford Fire Boards and the Inglewood Fire Committee:
Hawera Fire Board A. Griffiths.
Stratford Fire Board L. J. E. Croxson.
Inglewood Fire Committee L. K. Sharp.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:
A motor driver's licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Notice of Intention to Take Land in Block I, Cambridge Survey District, for a Maori School
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a Maori school, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Cambridge and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 3 acres 3 roods 30.2 perches.

Plants Declared Noxious Weeds in the Horowhenua County (Notice No. Ag. 5499)
PURSUANT to the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Director-General of Agriculture, acting under a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purposes of the said Act, hereby publishes the following special order made by the Horowhenua County Council on the 8th day of July 1953.
SPECIAL ORDER
THAT, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Horowhenua County Council hereby resolves and declares by way of special order that the plants mentioned in the Schedule hereto are noxious weeds within the County of Horowhenua:

Greater bindweed (Calystegia sepium).
Saffron thistle (Carthamus lanatus).
Heath (Erica lusitanica and Erica arborea).
Nassella tussock (Nassella trichotoma).
Star thistle (Centaurea calcitrapa).

Woolly nightshade (Solanum auriculatum).
Winged thistle (Carduus tenuiflorus and Carduus pycnocephalus).

Administration of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950 in Rodney County (Notice Ag. 5500)
PURSUANT to the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Director-General of Agriculture, acting under a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purposes of the said Act, hereby publishes the following resolution passed by the Rodney County Council on the 18th day of June 1953.
RESOLUTION
THAT, pursuant to subsection (1) of section 22 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Rodney County Council hereby resolves to assume the responsibility for the administration of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, as from the 31st day of August 1953.
