Regular Force
Marjorie Edith Traill is granted a short-service commission
for a period of two years as from 24 August 1953 in the rank

Captain (temp. Major) J. B. Gascoigne, from the Divi-
sional Counter Bombardment Staff Troop, H.Q.R.A., N.Z.
Division, is granted a short-service commission for a period
of one year as from 26 August 1953 in the rank of Captain
(temp Major), with seniority as Captain, 1 January 1950, and
as temp. Major, 1 March 1953, and is appointed United Nations
Military Observer in Kashmir. Dated 26 August 1953.
Territorial Force
3rd Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A.
Lieutenant-Colonel J. W. Moodie, D.S.O., E.D., is posted
to the Retired List. Dated 13 August 1953.
13th Composite Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A.
Lieutenant (temp. Captain) S. C. Purdy relinquishes the
temporary rank of Captain and is transferred to the Reserve
of Officers, Regimental List, 13th Composite Anti-Aircraft
Regiment, R.N.Z.A., with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority
from 19 September 1949. Dated 10 August 1953

The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly's Own)
Major W. M. Tongue, E.D., 1st Battalion, is transferred
to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, The Auckland
Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly's Own), with the rank of
Major, with seniority from 1 January 1950. Dated 10 August

The Hauraki Regiment
Captain E. V. Hayward, 1st Battalion, is transferred to
the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Infantry

Captain G. J. Thomas, M.C., 1st Battalion, is transferred
to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, The Nelson,
Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment, with the rank of
Captain, with seniority from 10 February 1950. Dated
11 August 1953.
Captain R. R. Eastgate, 1st Battalion, is transferred to
the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, The Nelson, Marl-
borough, and West Coast Regiment, with the rank of Captain,
with seniority from 30 May 1951. Dated 31 July 1953.

1st N.Z. Divisional Provost Company
Major L. E. Robinson relinquishes the appointment of O.C.,
Detachment Provost Company, Southern Military District, and
