Office of the Supreme Court at Hokitika Abolished

PURSUANT to section 23 (a) of the Judicature Act 1908, His
Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to notify
and declare that the office of the Supreme Court at Hokitika in the
Westland Judicial District is abolished on and from the 1st day of
February 1953.

Transfer of Records of Abolished Supreme Court

WHEREAS His Excellency the Governor-General has by
notice in the Gazette abolished the Office of the Supreme
Court at Hokitika on and from the 1st day of February 1953:

Now, therefore, pursuant to subsection (3) of section 23 (a)
of the Judicature Act 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General
has been pleased to direct that all documents, books, and records
in the office so abolished shall be delivered to the office of the
Supreme Court at Greymouth on the 1st day of February 1953 or
as soon thereafter as may be practicable.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 12 of the Chattels
Transfer Act 1924, His Excellency the Governor-General,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council,
hereby amends the list of chief towns in subsection (1) of section 12
of the said Act by omitting the word “Hokitika” and substituting
the word “Greymouth” on and from the 1st day of February 1953.
