Plant Declared a Noxious Weed in Whangarei County
(Notice No. Ag. 5490)
Pursuant to the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Minister of Agriculture hereby publishes the following special order made by the Whangarei County Council on the 14th day of August 1953.
SPECIAL ORDER
In exercise of the powers vested in it by section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Whangarei County Council hereby resolves and declares that the plant mentioned in the Schedule hereto (being a plant mentioned in the First Schedule of the said Act) is a noxious weed within the County of Whangarei.

Water Hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes).

Lands Vested in the Thames Borough Council Declared to be a Public Reserve
Notice is hereby given that the following resolution was passed by the Thames Borough Council pursuant to section 5 of the Public Reserves and Domains Act 1928 on the 20th day of November 1952, due notice of intention to pass such resolution having been given in terms of the said section, and no objections thereto received:
That, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 5 of the Public Reserves and Domains Act 1928, the Thames Borough Council hereby resolves that the pieces of land vested in it and described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are hereby declared to be a public reserve for camping ground purposes.

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
OnePu No. 1 and part OnePu No. 2 Blocks, (and Lot 17, Deposited Plan No. S. 775, being parts Kauaeranga E. 14 and OnePu No. 2 Blocks, situated in Block IV, Thames Survey District: Total area, 7 acres 1 rood 24·2 perches, more or less. All certificates of title, Volume 562, folio 23 (limited as to parcels), and Volume 1050, folio 208.
The lands to which the foregoing resolution relate are shown on the plan marked L. and S. 1/989, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Notice of Intention to Take Additional Land in the City of New Plymouth for a Public School
Notice is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the additional land described in the Schedule hereto for a public school; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the post office at New Plymouth and is there open for inspection and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of additional land required to be taken: 2 roods 4·96 perches.
Being Lot 32, D.P. 4443, being part Section 49, Fitzroy District, and being part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 118, folio 114 (Taranaki Land Registry).
Situated in the City of New Plymouth.
In the Taranaki Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 140981, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
Pursuant to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the persons hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:
A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the persons described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize them to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of their employment for the employers described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize them, while they are under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Time and Place of Election by Fire-insurance Companies of Members of the Hawera and Stratford Fire Boards and the Inglewood Fire Committee
Pursuant to the Fire Services Act 1949, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby appoints 12 o’clock noon on Tuesday, the 15th day of September 1953 as the time, and the offices of the Fire and Accident Underwriters’ Association, Wellington, as the place, for the holding of a meeting of representatives of the insurance companies carrying on business in New Zealand to elect one member of each of the Fire Boards for the Hawera and Stratford Fire Districts and one member of the Fire Committee for the Inglewood Fire District.
