Election of Producers' Representatives on the Hop Marketing Committee

Pursuant to the Hop Marketing Regulations 1939,

made under the Marketing Act 1936, and the Agriculture

(Emergency Powers) Act 1934, notice is hereby given that
a copy of the roll of producers qualified to vote at the election
of producers' representatives to the Hop Marketing Committee
established by the said regulations has been deposited for
public inspection during ordinary office hours, for a period
of seven days from the 29th day of July 1953 at the under-
mentioned offices of Messrs Buxtons Limited:

Nelson and Motueka
and also at the following post offices:

Nelson, Motueka, and Upper Moutere.

Nominations for the Hop Marketing Committee must be
in the hands of the Returning Officer, Hop Marketing Com-
mittee Election, P.O. Box 1500, Wellington, on or before
noon on Wednesday, the 12th day of August 1953.

THE following notice, received by the Right Hon. the
Minister of Finance from the Chairman, Manawatu
Catchment Board, is published in accordance with the pro-
visions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926.

MANAWATU CATCHMENT BOARD

Manga-atua Stream Scheme Loan, £3,000

Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act
1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers
of the Manga-atua Stream Scheme Special Area, taken on
the 20th day of July 1953, on the proposal of the Manawatu
Catchment Board to borrow the sum of £3,000 for the
purpose of carrying out river control and drainage works
on the Manga-atua Stream and adjacent areas—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 50.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 83.
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

Upper Manawatu and Lower Mangahao Scheme Special Area,
taken on the 20th day of July 1953, on the proposal of the
Manawatu Catchment Board to borrow the sum of £11,250 for
the purpose of carrying out river control and drainage works
on the Upper Manawatu and Lower Mangahao Rivers and
adjacent areas—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 85.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 56.
I therefore declare the proposal was carried.
