a “ Electrical wiring for radio sets” means-
(1) The installation and connection of any earthing conductor used for any radio apparatus.
(2) The connection of a flexible cord to any radio apparatus or any plug-top, ceiling-rose, or other connector used between the fixed wiring and such apparatus.
(3) The replacement of any flexible cord used for supplying electrical energy to any radio apparatus and used between the fixed wiring and such apparatus.
(4) The replacement of a fuse-link on any subcircuit used to supply electrical energy to any radio apparatus.
(5) The removal and/or replacement of any radio apparatus as a whole or in part and which is connected to the fixed wiring by means of a flexible cord
(6) The assembly, alteration, and/or repair of any radio apparatus.
b Servicing Burrough’s machines up to and including the plug-top and whilst employed by Burrough’s Ltd.
c Servicing “ Frigidaire ” refrigerating-machines up to and including the plug-top.
d “ Radio interference suppression ” means-
(1) The temporary installation and temporary connecting of any earthing conductor used for any radio apparatus or interference filter.
(2) The temporary connecting of a flexible cord to any apparatus, or any plug-top, ceiling-rose, or other connector used between the fixed wiring and such apparatus.
(3) The temporary replacement of any flexible cord used for supplying electrical energy to any apparatus and used between the fixed wiring and such apparatus.
(4) The replacement of a fuse-link on any subcircuit.
(5) The temporary removal and/or temporary replacement of any apparatus as a whole or in part and which is connected to the fixed wiring by means of a flexible cord.
(6) The removal of conductors from the terminals of stationary electrical apparatus, the insertion of filters and the reconnection of the conductors for trial and demonstration purposes only.
(7) The maintenance of the power equipment associated with radio apparatus.
e “Serviceman” means-
(1) The installation, connection, alteration, removal, or repair of an overhead line (whether in conduit or otherwise) up to the point of entry in the external wall of a consumer’s building ; and
(2) The installation, connection, alteration, removal, or repair of an underground line up to a service cut-out within a consumer’s building ; and
(3) The erection or removal of meters or time-switches, the replacement of fuse-links and defective flexible cords, the removal and replacement of defective accessories, apparatus, and appliances, and the minor adjustments of defective accessories, apparatus, and appliances; and
(4) The assisting of a registered electrical wireman to replace defective conductors between the main switch-board on a consumer’s premises and the service-line from which supply is obtained, when no apprentice, improver, or other registered electrical wireman is available.
f “Luminous-discharge-tubes” means-
The following work in connection with luminous-discharge-tube and associated equipment only-
(a) All work over 650 volts :
(b) The replacement of fuse-links:
(c) The connection and replacement of flexible cords:
(d) The earthing of such equipment:
(e) The connection of such equipment to the fixed wiring:
(f) The disconnection of such equipment from the fixed wiring:
(g) The assembly and repair of such equipment.
g “ The operation of motion and sound pictures” means-
(a) The replacement of subcircuit fuse-links; and
(b) The following work in connection with sound-film equipment only-
(i) The adjustment and/or replacement of component parts in the sound system from the power transformer to the output; and
(ii) The adjustment and/or replacement of fractional horse-power motors and control equipment for projector drives, arcs, rewinding, exhaust as applied to lamp-house ventilation, rectifier cooling system, gramophone records, the curtain, and for the lighting effects; and
(iii) Servicing rectifiers used in connection with supply to an arc; and
(iv) The adjustment and/or replacement of a change-over mechanism; and
(v) Servicing the direct current side of the motor-generator used in connection with supply to an arc; and
(c) Servicing theatre emergency lighting.
h “ Radio experimenter” means-
The following work in connection with amateur radio experimental work only-
(a) The replacement of fuse-links:
(b) The connection and replacement of flexible cords:
(c) The earthing of radio sets:
(d) The disconnection and reconnection of radio sets:
(e) The assembly and repair of radio sets.
i Servicing welding machines up to and including the plug-top.
k “ Radio experimenter and the servicing of portable appliances in the Anatomy Department of the Medical School of the Otago University” means-
Radio experimenter and the servicing of portable appliances in the Anatomy Department of the Medical School of the Otago University and the replacement of fuse-links on the subcircuits supplying such appliances.
l “ Secondary of radio sets” means-
Work on the secondary side of the power transformer of radio sets.
