Notice of Intention to Issue an Order in Council Revoking the Reservation Over Part of the Mapau Domain, North Auckland Land District

WHEREAS by section 41 of the Public Reserves and Domains Act 1928 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), it is provided that the Governor-General may from time to time by Order in Council, but subject to compliance with the requirements of subsection (2) of section 7 of the said Act, declare that the land comprised in a public domain or part thereof shall cease to be subject to Part II of the said Act; and, further, may declare either that such land shall be a public reserve for the purposes of Part I of the said Act, or Crown land available for disposal by way of sale for cash under the Land Act 1948:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is a part of the Mapau Domain but is not required for domain purposes, and it is expedient to revoke the reservation over the said land:

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby give notice, pursuant to subsection (2) of section 7 of the said Act, that it is my intention to issue an Order in Council under the provisions of section 41 of the said Act declaring that the part of the Mapau Domain described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to Part II of the said Act, and shall be deemed to be Crown land available for disposal by way of sale for cash under the Land Act 1948.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—PART OF MAPAU DOMAIN SECTIONS 1, 2, 15, and 16, Village of Raupo, situated in Block XV, Tokatoka Survey District: Area, 4 acres, more or less. (S.O. plan 10948.)

Extending the Time for Forwarding the Report of the Commission Appointed to Inquire Into the Effect on Foxton and District of the Construction of the Whirokino Cut in the Manawatu River

To all unto whom these presents shall come and to: Robert McIntosh Grant, of Palmerston North, Stipendiary Magistrate; Owen Neil Campbell, of Wellington, Retired Land Drainage Engineer; Frederick Selwyn Dyson, A.M.I.C.E., of Auckland, Civil Engineer:

GREETING:

WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the 11th day of February 1953, you, the said Robert McIntosh Grant, Owen Neil Campbell, and Frederick Selwyn Dyson, were constituted and appointed to be a Commission in terms of the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908 to inquire into and report on certain matters relating to the effect on Foxton and District of the construction of the Whirokino Cut in the Manawatu River:

And whereas such Commission was required to submit its report not later than the 30th day of April 1953:

And whereas by a Warrant dated the 1st day of April 1953 the time within which such Commission was required to submit its report was extended to the 30th day of June 1953:

And whereas it is expedient to extend the time within which such Commission shall submit its report for a further period of two months, that is, until the 31st day of August 1953:

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declare and appoint that the time at or before which you shall submit your report aforesaid is hereby extended to the 31st day of August 1953:

And I hereby declare that the provisions of the said Warrant shall apply as fully and effectively in all respects as if the 31st day of August 1953 were the date for the expiration originally fixed in the said Warrant.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 23rd day of June 1953.

Lieutenant (Acting Captain) A. M. J. Millar is seconded to the Tongan Defence Force and is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst so seconded. Dated 9 June 1953.
