The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1925—
Cancellation of Registration of Industrial Union
NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to and in exercise
of the powers conferred upon me by section 23 of the
Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1925, the registration
of the Waitaki Licensed Victuallers' Industrial Union of,
Employers, Registered No. 1598, situated at Waimate, is hereby
cancelled as from the date of the publication of this notice in
the Gazette.

Price Order No. 1475 (Australian Potatoes)
PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Price
Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of
Industries and Commerce, hereby makes the following Price
Order:
- This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1475, and
shall come into force on the 19th day of June 1953. - (1) Price Orders Nos. 1466* and 1469† are hereby
revoked.
(2) The revocation of the said Orders shall not affect the
liability of any person for any offence in relation thereto
committed before the coming into force of this Order.
APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER
- This Order applies with respect to all potatoes imported
into New Zealand from Australia and sold by way of retail in
the North Island.
FIXING MAXIMUM RETAIL PRICES OF POTATOES TO WHICH
THIS ORDER APPLIES
- The maximum price that may be charged or received for
any potatoes to which this Order applies that are sold by way
of retail shall be determined as follows:
(a) Where the potatoes are sold by any retailer whose
place of business is situate within a radius of
twenty miles from the principal Post Office at
Wellington or at New Plymouth, the maximum
price shall be 6d. per pound.
(b) Where the potatoes are sold by any retailer whose
place of business is situate within a radius of
twenty miles from the principal Post Office at
Auckland, the maximum price shall be 6½d. per
pound.
(c) Where the potatoes are sold by any retailer whose
place of business is situate elsewhere in the Auckland
Province the maximum price shall be 7d. per
pound.
(d) Where the potatoes are sold by any retailer whose
place of business is situate elsewhere in the North
Island than at one of the places specified in
paragraphs (a), (b), and (c) hereof, the maximum
price shall be 6¼d. per pound.
DUTY IMPOSED ON RETAILERS
- Every retailer who offers or exposes any potatoes to
which this order applies for sale in any shop shall keep in a
prominent position in such proximity to the potatoes to which
it relates as to be obviously descriptive thereof a ticket,
placard, or label on which shall be stated in legible and
prominent characters the word 'Australian' and the retail
price per pound.
SPECIAL PRICES WHERE EXTRAORDINARY CHARGES INCURRED
- Notwithstanding anything in the foregoing provisions
of this Order and subject to such conditions, if any, as it
thinks fit, the Tribunal on application by any retailer, may
authorize special maximum prices in respect of any potatoes
to which this Order applies where special circumstances exist,
or where for any reason extraordinary charges (freight or
otherwise) are incurred by the retailer. Any authority given
by the Tribunal under this clause may apply with respect to
a specified lot or consignment of potatoes, or may relate
generally to all potatoes to which this Order applies sold by
the retailer while the approval remains in force.

Sale of Unclaimed Property
IT is hereby notified that unclaimed property in the hands
of the Police at Whangarei, Auckland, Hamilton, Gisborne,
Napier, New Plymouth, Wanganui, Wellington, Nelson, Greymouth, Christchurch, Timaru, Dunedin, and Invercargill
Stations will, if not claimed before Saturday, 4 July 1953,
be sold thereafter by public auction.
Particulars as to the time and place of sale may be
obtained from the Superintendent or Inspector of Police in
charge of the District.
