NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act 1909; by writing under his hand dated this 29th day of May 1953, cancelled the registry of Moa Tent No. 59, of the New Zealand Central District, No. 86, Independent Order of Rechabites Friendly Society (Register No. 110/46), held at Inglewood, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to section 222 of the Companies Act 1933, that, at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company, duly convened and held on the 29th day of May 1953, the following special resolution was duly passed:

"That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that DAVID JOHN STANNARD, of Gisborne, Registered Accountant, be and is hereby appointed liquidator of the company."

WAITEMATA COUNTY COUNCIL

PUBLIC NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROAD

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and amendments and the Counties Act 1920 and amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Waitemata County Council proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain work, namely, the construction and formation of a public road passing through or adjoining the parcel of land referred to hereunder, and situated in the Titirangi Riding of the County of Waitemata, and for the purpose of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that plans of the land so required to be taken are deposited in the public office of the Clerk of the said Council, situated at the Council Chambers, 1 Princess Street, Auckland, and are open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land must state their objection in writing and send the same within forty (40) days from the date of the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk, at the Council Chambers:

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 1 acre 1 rood 1·9 perches.

Being part Allotment 294, Waikomiti Parish; coloured blue. Situated in Block VII, Titirangi Survey District, and in the Land District of North Auckland. (S.O. 37591.)

I, IRENE CONSTANCE HUNTER, of 6A Aglionby Street, Lower Hutt, Feme-sole, give public notice that I have assumed and from henceforth on all occasions intend to sign and use and to be called and be known by the name of FITZROY-BARRINGTON in place of my name of HUNTER, and further, that such intended change of name is formally declared and evidenced by a deed-poll under my hand and seal bearing date the 28th day of May 1953 and enrolled in the Registry of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, at Wellington, on the 29th day of May 1953 under No. M 57/53.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was on the 21st day of May 1953 presented to the said Court by Native Timbers, Limited, a duly incorporated company having its registered office at Auckland. And that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Auckland on the 26th day of June 1953, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

TE AWAMUTU BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATES

Stormwater Loan (1952), £7,200

IN pursuance of the powers conferred on it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Municipal Corporations Act 1933, and every other power it thereto enabling, the Te Awamutu Borough Council hereby resolves by way of Special order:

"That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on the repayment of a loan of £7,200, being the Stormwater Loan 1952, the Te Awamutu Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one half-penny (½d.) in the pound upon the rateable unimproved value of all rateable property of the Borough of Te Awamutu; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

Sewerage Improvement Supplementary Loan (1953), £4,000

IN pursuance of the powers conferred on it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Municipal Corporations Act 1933, and every other power it thereto enabling, the Te Awamutu Borough Council hereby resolves by way of special order:

"That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on the repayment of a loan of £4,000, being the Sewerage Improvement Supplementary Loan 1953, the Te Awamutu Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal two five of a penny (¼d.) in the pound upon the rateable unimproved value of all rateable property of the Borough of Te Awamutu, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off."
