WHEREAS by section 167 of the Land Act 1948 it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart as a reserve, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral lease or pastoral occupation licence, any Crown land for any purpose, which, in his opinion, is desirable in the public interest, and notice thereof shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 167 of the said Act, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby reserve, subject .to the reservations and conditions imposed by section 59 of the Land Act 1948, the land in the Otago Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for a site for municipal buildings.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT
SECTION 408, Town of Port Chalmers: Area, 26 perches, more or less. Subject to Grant of Rights created by Deed No. 158825 recorded in Deeds Record Volume 285, folio 463 (Otago Deeds Registry).
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 6th day of May 1953.

Member Appointed to Kirk's Bush Scenic Board

WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the 18th day of December 1951, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 20th day of that month, the control of a certain reserve in the North Auckland Land District, known as the Kirk's Bush Scenic Reserve, was vested in certain persons therein named, who were by the said Warrant constituted a special Board by the name of the Kirk's Bush Scenic Board, pursuant to section 13 of the Scenery Preservation Act 1908: And whereas it is desirable that James Gardiner should be appointed a member of the said Board in place of Herbert George Garland, deceased:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 13 of the Scenery Preservation Act 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General hereby appoints the said
James Gardiner
to be a member of the Kirk's Bush Scenic Board constituted by the Warrant dated the 18th day of December 1951, herein-before referred to, in place of the said Herbert George Garland, deceased.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 6th day of May 1953.
