Amending Open Season for Imported Game and/or Native
Game in Certain Acclimatization District--Waimate
Acclimatization District

WHEREAS because of local damage to farmers’ crops by
mallard duck in the Waimate Acclimatization District
it is considered desirable to extend the open season for the
taking and killing of those ducks in that district, now, therefore, pursuant to the Animals Protection and Game Act
1921-22, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby extends to
the 7th day of June 1953 (inclusive), the open season for
the taking and killing of mallard ducks in the Waimate
Acclimatization District as set forth in a notice dated 11
February 1953, and published in the New Zealand Gazette
of 26 February 1953, at page 260.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the
Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that
the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said
regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy.
trade motors, shall not apply to the persons hereinafter
mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provisions shall
apply:—

A motor-driver’s licence issued under the Motor-Drivers
Regulations 1940, to the persons described in Column 1 of the
Schedule hereunder may authorize them to drive a heavy trade
motor in the course of their employment for the employers
described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not
authorize them while they are under the age of eighteen years,
to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to and in exercise
of the powers conferred upon me by section 23 of the
Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1925, the
registration of the Southland Flaxmill Employees' Industrial
Union of Workers, Registered No. 1754, situated at Inver-cargill, is hereby cancelled as from the date of the publication
of this notice in the Gazette.
