Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the land described in the Schedule hereto being taken for health purposes (district nurse’s residence).

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land permitted to be taken: 25 perches.
Being Section 73, Block II, D.P. 2893, being part Karewa Native Township, and being part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 643, folio 78 (Auckland Land Registry).

Pursuant to section 6 of the Housing Amendment Act 1940, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the access-way described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Christchurch and be under the control and management of the Christchurch City Council.

Conferring on Makara County Council Certain Powers of Borough Councils with Respect to Drainage, Sanitation, and Water-supply

Pursuant to section 182 of the Counties Act 1920, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby confers on the Makara County Council all the powers with respect to drainage, sanitation, and the supply of water for domestic or industrial purposes exercisable by a duly constituted borough council under sections 82 to 84, 86 to 88, section 91, Part XIX, Part XX (with the exception of sections 251, 253, and 254), and section 346 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1933, and also section 20 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act 1938, but subject to the restriction that such powers shall be exercisable only over that portion of the County of Makara described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
ALL that area of land, excluding the area within the boundaries of the Town District of Tawa Flat, situated within Block XI of the Paekakariki Survey District, and Block I, II, V, and VII, of the Belmont Survey District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the northern boundary of the Makara County and being the intersection of the eastern side of the State highway, and the northern boundary of

Section 99; thence proceeding easterly and southerly along that boundary of the said Section 99 to its intersection with the northern and western boundaries of Section 29; thence south-easterly along the northern boundary of the said Section 29 to its intersection with the northern and western boundaries of Section 32; thence easterly and southerly along the northern and eastern boundaries of the said Section 32 to its intersection with the northern and eastern boundaries of Section 26; thence southerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 26, 24, 22, 20, and 18, to the southern boundary of the said Section 18, and proceeding westerly along that said southern boundary to its intersection with the north and eastern boundaries of Section 15; thence proceeding southerly along the eastern boundary and westerly along the southern boundary of the said Section 15 to its intersection with the eastern boundary of Section 59; thence southerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 59, 58, 56, 53, and southerly and south-easterly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 51, 50, 48, 46, 44, 42, 40, 39, 37, and 35, and south-easterly and westerly along the eastern and southern boundaries of Section 33 to its intersection with the State highway; thence across that highway by a right line to the eastern boundary of Section 32; thence north-westerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 32 and 34 to the intersection of the southern and eastern boundaries of Section 36; thence south-westerly and north-westerly along the southern and western boundaries of the said Section 36 and north-westerly generally along the western boundaries of Sections 38, 41, 43, 45, 47, 49 and parts of Sections 52, 54, and 55, to the north-western corner of the said part Section 55; thence across Section 122 to the intersection of the southern and western boundaries of Takapuwahia Block H 4 with the north-western boundary of the said Section 122; thence by a direct line in a north-westerly direction along the western boundaries of Takapuwahia Blocks H 3, H 2, H 1, G 1, G 2, E 1, D 1A 2B, D 1A 2A, D 1A 1B, D 1A 1A, D 1B, south A 2, south A 1, and north A 1; thence north-easterly and northerly along the western and north-western boundary of the said Section north 1 to its intersection with the western boundary of Koanga-aumu Block 1; then along that western boundary to its termination with the coast-line; thence northerly and easterly generally along that coast-line to its intersection with the Porirua Harbour; thence southerly, easterly, and northerly generally around the coast-line of the said Porirua Harbour; thence by a right line across the highway to the point of commencement.

Constituting the Merton Rabbit District (Notice No. Ag. 5415)

Present:
THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Rabbit Nuisance Act 1928 and to section 29 of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture, made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby constitutes and declares the area of land, the boundaries of which are described in the Schedule hereto, being an area to which subsection (1) of section 30 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act 1928 applies, a rabbit district, and appoints that the name of the said rabbit district shall be the Merton Rabbit District, and orders that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of land occupied by the ratepayer.

SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE MERTON RABBIT DISTRICT
All that area in the Otago Land District and Waikouaiti County containing 21,350 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the junction of the north and south branches of the Waikouaiti River in Block V, Waikouaiti Survey District; thence generally south-westerly along the centre of the aforesaid south branch to a point in line with the southern boundary of the Commonage Reserve, Block IX, Waikouaiti Survey District; thence easterly to and along the said boundary to the western boundary of Block I, Waikouaiti Survey District; thence southerly and easterly along the western and southern boundaries of Block I aforesaid to the high-water mark of the ocean; thence generally north-easterly along the high-water mark of the ocean to the mouth of the Waikouaiti River; thence generally north-westerly and westerly along the right bank of the Waikouaiti River to the point of commencement.
