Proposed Boundaries of the Electoral Districts in the North Island
and the South Island of New Zealand

THE Representation Commission, appointed in pursuance of
section 2 of the Electoral Amendment Act 1945, hereby
publishes in accordance with the provisions of section 5 of the said
Act, the proposed boundaries of the electoral districts in the North
and South Islands of New Zealand; and, further, gives notice that
written objections to the same will be received by the undersigned,
the Chairman of the Commission, at the office of the Surveyor-
General, Government Buildings, Wellington, not later than noon on
Monday, the 10th day of March 1952, for consideration by the afore-
said Commission.

Maps of the proposed districts may be seen at the office of any
City or Borough Council, County Council, Town Board, or Road
Board; of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland, New Plymouth,
Gisborne, Napier, Wellington, Blenheim, Nelson, Hokitika, Christ-
church, Dunedin, and Invercargill; of the Chief Electoral Officer
at Wellington; and of the Registrars of Electors throughout the
Dominion.

HOBSON

All that area comprising the County of Mangonui, the County of
Whangaroa, the County of Hokianga, the County of Bay of Islands,
the County of Hobson, the Borough of Kaitaia, the Borough of
Kaikohe, the Borough of Dargaville, Cavalli Islands, Stephenson’s
Island, and all other adjacent islands.

MARSDEN

All that area comprising the County of Whangarei, the Borough
of Whangarei, the Town District of Hikurangi, the Town District of
Kamo, the groups of islands known as Poor Knights, Hen and
Chickens, and Mokohinau, and all other adjacent islands.

RODNEY

All that area comprising the County of Otamatea, the County
of Rodney, the Borough of Helensville, the Borough of Henderson,
the Town District of Warkworth, the Mairetahi, Kaukapakapa,
Kumeu, Waitakere, and Waipareira Ridings of the County of Waite-
mata, and that part of the Waikumete Riding of the County of
Waitemata lying to the north generally of Tiromoana Road, and
including Kawau and Motuketekete Islands and other adjacent
islands and all wharves and other extensions seaward.

WAITEMATA

All that area comprising the Wainui, Pukeatua, Takapuna,
and Birkenhead Ridings of the County of Waitemata, the Borough
of Birkenhead, the Borough of Northcote, and that part of the
Borough of Takapuna lying to the west generally of a line com-
mencing on the shore of the Waitemata Harbour at the southern
end of Pupuke Road and proceeding northerly generally along
Pupuke Road and Kowhai Road and its production to the shore of
Lake Pupuke; thence along the generally western shore of that
lake to the north-eastern boundary of Lot 7 of a subdivision of
Allotment 87, Parish of Takapuna, being portion of Milford School
Reserve; thence along that boundary to Otakou Road, along
Otakou Road, Fenwick Avenue, and Kitchener Road to the bridge
across Wairau Creek, down the left bank of Wairau Creek to and
along the main highway, and again along the left bank of the Wairau
Creek to the sea-coast and including Herald Island (formerly Pine
Island) and all wharves and other extensions seaward.

NORTH SHORE

All that area comprising the Borough of Devonport and that
part of the Borough of Takapuna lying generally to the east of a
line commencing on the shore of the Waitemata Harbour at the
southern end of Pupuke Road and proceeding northerly generally
along Pupuke Road and Kowhai Road and its production to the
shore of Lake Pupuke; thence along the generally western shore of
that lake to the north-eastern boundary of Lot 7 of a subdivision of
Allotment 87, Parish of Takapuna, being portion of Milford School
Reserve; thence along that boundary to Otakou Road, along
Otakou Road, Fenwick Avenue, and Kitchener Road to the bridge
across Wairau Creek, down the left bank of Wairau Creek to and
along the main highway and again along the left bank of the Wairau
Creek to the sea-coast, and including all wharves and other exten-
sions seaward.

TITIRANGI

All that area comprising the Borough of New Lynn, the Town
District of Glen Eden, the Titirangi Riding of the County of Waite-
mata, that portion of the Waikumete Riding of the County of
Waitemata lying generally to the south of Tiromoana Road; those
parts of the City of Auckland and the Borough of Mount Albert
bounded by a line commencing at the southern extremity of the
eastern boundary of Allotment 75, Parish of Titirangi, on the shore
of the Manukau Harbour; thence proceeding northerly along the
boundary of the City of Auckland to Richardson Road and along
Richardson Road to New North Road; thence south-westerly along
New North Road to Oakley Stream; thence down Oakley Stream
to the North Auckland Main Trunk Railway; thence westerly
along that railway to and along Browne Street to the Great North
Road; thence along the Great North Road to and along Victor
Street to the eastern boundary of Kitchener Hamlet; thence along
