Appointments of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Air Force

Air Department,
Wellington, 27 August 1952.

HIS Excellency the Administrator of the Government has been pleased to approve the following appointments of officers of the Royal New Zealand Air Force:—

REGULAR AIR FORCE
ADMINISTRATIVE AND SUPPLY BRANCH
Appointments

Special Duties Division—

The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 64, dated 9 December 1948, page 1516, under the heading “New Zealand Defence Scientific Corps—Appointments” in so far as it relates to “Flight Lieutenant Malcolm Robert HEAD, D.S.O., D.F.C., B.E., B.Sc., B.A.,” and to “Flight Lieutenant John STEPHENSON, B.Sc.,” is hereby cancelled and the following substituted:—

“Malcolm Robert HEAD, D.S.O., D.F.C., B.E., B.Sc., B.A. (70070), is granted a commission for a period of five years, to be followed by a period of four years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers, with the rank of Flight Lieutenant, and with seniority as from 1 October 1943. Dated 1 October 1948.”

“John STEPHENSON, B.Sc. (72999), is granted a commission for a period of five years, to be followed by a period of four years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers, with the rank of Flight Lieutenant. Dated 1 November 1948.”

The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 62, dated 28 September 1950, page 1789, under the heading “New Zealand Defence Scientific Corps—Appointment” is hereby cancelled and the following substituted: “Leslie Colin Woods, M.Sc., B.E., Ph.D. (74239), is granted a commission for a period of five years, to be followed by a period of four years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers, with the rank of Flight Lieutenant and with seniority as from 21 April 1947. Dated 21 April 1950.”

The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 35, dated 9 June 1949, page 1324, under the heading “New Zealand Defence Scientific Corps—Appointments” is hereby cancelled and the following substituted:—

“Roderick Duncan MACDONALD, M.Sc. (74147), is granted a commission for a period of five years, to be followed by a period of four years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers, with the temporary rank of Flying Officer. Dated 9 May 1949.”

“Robert Malcolm ALLAN, B.E. (74148), is granted a commission for a period of five years, to be followed by a period of four years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers, with the temporary rank of Flying Officer. Dated 24 May 1949.”

Amendments

The following notices published in the New Zealand Gazette are hereby amended to read, “Administrative and Supply Branch—Special Duties Division” in lieu of “New Zealand Defence Scientific Corps”:—

HIS Excellency the Administrator of the Government has been pleased to approve the following appointment, extensions of commissions, promotions, transfers, and resignation of officers of the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

REGULAR AIR FORCE
GENERAL DUTIES BRANCH
Extensions of Commissions

Flight Lieutenant Gordon Alan Lee WEBBY, M.B.E., D.F.C. (70057), is granted an extension of his commission for a period of one year. Dated 1 April 1952.

Flight Lieutenant Harold Norman BURROWS (70089), is granted an extension of his commission for a period of two years. Dated 1 April 1952.

Flight Lieutenant Edwin Pattison Booth EBBETT, A.F.C. (70098), is granted an extension of his commission for a period of one year. Dated 1 April 1952.

Flight Lieutenant James Desmond WASHINGTON (70161), is granted an extension of his commission for a period of two years. Dated 1 April 1952.

Flight Lieutenant Robert May DWERRYHOUSE, D.F.C. (70170), is granted an extension of his commission for a period of one year. Dated 22 April 1952.

Transfer

Patrick Joseph MCCARTHY (130865) is transferred from the Reserve of Air Force Officers to the Active List for a period of two years with the rank of Flying Officer and with seniority as from 11 August 1951, to be followed by a period of four years in the Reserve. Dated 11 August 1952.

TECHNICAL BRANCH
Extension of Commission

Engineer Division—

Flight Lieutenant William John HORTON (70224) is granted an extension of his commission for a period of two years. Dated 1 April 1952.

TERRITORIAL AIR FORCE
GENERAL DUTIES BRANCH
Promotions

The undermentioned Flying Officers are granted the temporary rank of Flight Lieutenant:—

John Robert Loughnan CAMPBELL, B.A., LL.B. (130808).
Vernon Leslie Alexander POWELL (130653).

Promotion

Special Duties Division—

Flying Officer John Anderson DALE (130941) is granted the temporary rank of Flight Lieutenant. Dated 1 August 1952.

RESERVE OF AIR FORCE OFFICERS
Appointment

Henry Johannes SULLIVAN (130847) is granted a commission for a period of four years in the General Duties Branch with the rank of Flying Officer and with seniority as from 1 January 1945. Dated 31 July 1952.

Transfers

Flight Lieutenant John Bernard Clifton NICHOLLS (70138) is transferred from the Active List to the Reserve of Air Force Officers for a period of four years. Dated 3 July 1952.

Flying Officer Reginald Arthur Geoffrey PLANE, A.F.M. (72076), is transferred from the Active List to the Reserve of Air Force Officers for a period of four years. Dated 23 July 1952.

Resignation

Flight Lieutenant Lionel Conrad MEIKLEJOHN, B.A. (133500), resigns his commission. Dated 31 July 1952.

Registrar of the Stock Remedies Registration Board Appointed (Notice No. Ag. 5307)

PURSUANT to paragraph (a) of subsection (2) of section 3 of the Stock Remedies Act 1934, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government has been pleased to appoint, on the 22nd day of August 1952,

John Erskine McIlwaine, Esq., M.R.C.V.S.,

to be Registrar for the purposes of the said Act, vice Alan Daniel Mackinlay Gordon Laing, Esq., M.R.C.V.S.
