PURSUANT to section 234 of the Companies Act 1933, notice is hereby given that a meeting of the creditors of L. P. Christie and Company, Limited, will be held on Monday, the 28th day of July 1952, at the Methodist Connexional Offices, Epworth Chambers, 176 Hereford Street, Christchurch, at 3 p.m., for the purpose of:—

(1) Receiving a statement of the position of the company’s affairs, together with a list of the creditors of the company and the estimated amount of their claims.

(2) To pass a resolution, if thought fit, appointing H. P. BRIDGE, Esquire, of Christchurch, or some person nominated by the creditors, liquidator of the company.

DUNEDIN CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE AS SECURITY FOR REDEMPTION LOAN 1953, OF £18,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Dunedin City Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £18,000, authorized to be raised by the Dunedin City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of redeeming at maturity portion of the outstanding liability in respect of the Renewal Loan 1933, of £250,000, the said Dunedin City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one halfpenny (½d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of the City of Dunedin, comprising the whole of the City of Dunedin; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first (1st) day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of five (5) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of the resolution passed by the Dunedin City Council on Monday, 7 July 1952.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Upper Hutt require to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of a public work—namely road widening. Notice is hereby further given that a plan of the said land is open to inspection by all persons, without fee, during office hours at the office of the Upper Hutt Borough Council, Upper Hutt.

All persons affected by such taking are hereby required to set forth in writing all well-grounded objections to the execution of such public work or to the taking of such land and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk, Upper Hutt Borough Council, Upper Hutt.
