TIMARU CITY COUNCIL

ELECTRICITY STOCK PURCHASE LOAN 1952

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Timaru City Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on the Electricity Stock Purchase Loan 1952, of £20,000 authorized to be raised by the Timaru City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of purchasing equipment for the expansion of reticulation, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·142d. in the pound upon the whole amount of unimproved value of all rateable property in the whole of the City of Timaru; and such special rate to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until such loan is fully paid off.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned DENIS LESLIE O’REILLY and ROBERT WILLIAM BROOKLAND, carrying on business as Garage and Service-station Proprietors at Evans Street, Timaru, under the style or firm of “ Cassidy’s Motors,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 31st day of March 1952 so far as concerns the said Robert William Brookland who retires from the firm. All debts due to and owing by the said late firm will be received and paid by the said Denis Leslie O’Reilly who will continue to carry on the said business under the same style or firm.

APPLICATION FOR LICENCE FOR A WATER-RACE

UNDER THE MINING ACT 1926

NOTICE is hereby given that by Application No. 49/1952 I will apply to the Warden of the Otago Mining District at Cromwell on Tuesday, the 5th day of August 1952, at 10 a.m., for the grant to me of a licence for a water-race authorizing me to divert 15 heads of water from the Hawea River by means of a water-race commencing immediately downstream from Section 14, Block VI, Lower Hawea Survey District, and terminating at Section 1, Block II, Lower Hawea Survey District, for irrigation purposes.

Objections must be lodged at the office of the Mining Registrar, Cromwell, and notified to me or my Solicitors, Messrs. Brodrick and Parcell, Melmore Street, Cromwell, at least three days before the above-mentioned time of hearing.
