Agreement for Grant of Easement (Use of Railway Siding) and Incidental Rights Thereto in Favour of The Butler Timber Company, Limited, Dominion Industries, Limited, and New Zealand Plywood (South Island), Limited, Over Land in the Borough of Riccarton, Taken for a Dehydration Factory, Assented to
—
WHEREAS The Butler Timber Company, Limited, a duly incorporated company having its registered office at Mandeville Street in Riccarton, Dominion Industries, Limited, a company having its registered office at Auckland, and New Zealand Plywood (South Island), Limited, a company duly incorporated under the Companies Act 1933, and having its registered office at Auckland, have agreed to grant and transfer to Her Majesty the Queen the right to maintain, repair, reconstruct, and use for the passage and re-passage of locomotives and railway rolling-stock, laden or unladen, the existing railway siding over part of the land comprised and described in certificates of title, Volume 437, folio 210, Volume 520, folio 203, and Volume 520, folio 202 respectively:
And whereas the said The Butler Timber Company, Limited, Dominion Industries, Limited, and New Zealand Plywood (South Island), Limited, are entitled to receive compensation for the said grant:
And whereas the Minister of Works has agreed to grant and transfer to the said The Butler Timber Company, Limited, Dominion Industries, Limited, and New Zealand Plywood (South Island), Limited, the right to maintain, repair, re-construct, and use for the passage and re-passage of locomotives and railway rolling stock, laden or unladen, the existing railway siding over part of an area of 2 acres 1 rood 23·8 perches, being part Lot 1, D.P. 7893, being part Rural Section 145, situated in the Borough of Riccarton, and being part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 37, folio 186, held by Her Majesty the Queen for a dehydration factory in full satisfaction of the compensation aforesaid:
And whereas the said The Butler Timber Company Limited, Dominion Industries, Limited, and New Zealand Plywood (South Island), Limited, have agreed to accept such grant of easement in full satisfaction of the said compensation:
Now therefore, the Minister of Works hereby gives notice, pursuant to section 97 of the Public Works Act 1928, that he assents to the agreement hereinbefore referred to.

Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Transport Act 1949, Section 36
—
PURSUANT to section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby declares the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road therein shall be subject to the maximum speed-limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SITUATED within Wanganui County: All that area at Upokongaro comprising that portion of the National Park—Wanganui State Highway No. 28, commencing at a point 2 chains measured in a south-westerly direction from the southern end of the Upokongaro Stream Bridge, and terminating at a point 41 chains measured along the said State highway generally in a northerly direction from the commencing point.

—
PURSUANT to section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby declares the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road therein shall be subject to the maximum speed-limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SITUATED within Springs County: All that area at Burnham consisting of that portion of the Christchurch—Timaru State Highway No. 58 commencing at a point 20 chains measured along the said highway in a north-easterly direction from its junction with Aylesbury Road and terminating at a point 40 chains measured along the said highway in a south-westerly direction from the commencing point; also that portion of Burnham Road commencing at its junction with the Christchurch—Timaru State Highway No. 58 and terminating at a point 3 chains measured along the said road in a south-easterly direction from the said junction.
SITUATED within Malvern, Paparua, and Springs Counties: All that area at Burnham consisting of that portion of Aylesbury Road commencing at its junction with the Christchurch—Timaru State Highway No. 58 and terminating at a point 45 chains measured along the said road in a north-westerly direction from the said junction.

Approval of Testing Officers Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
—
PURSUANT to regulation 5 of the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby approves of the persons named in column 2 of the Schedule hereto being testing officers for the authority specified in column 1 of the said Schedule.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
—
PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations, so far as they relate to the driving of heavy-trade motors, shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:—
A motor-driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy-trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy-trade motor for any other purpose.
