LYTTELTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
——
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Lyttelton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £30,000 to be raised under the above-mentioned Act for the Diamond Harbour Water and Sewerage Scheme, the said Lyttelton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of six shillings and twopence farthing in the pound upon the rateable value on the basis of the annual value of all rateable property situated in that part of the borough known as Diamond Harbour; and that such rate shall be an annual-recurring rate and be payable yearly on the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is paid off.”

We hereby certify that the above extract is a copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Lyttelton Borough Council held on Monday, 19 May 1952.

TAWERA COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
——
Housing Loan 1951

AT a meeting of the Tawera County Council held on the 1st ultimo notice of intention to strike a rate of 0·07d. in the pound on the rateable capital value of the whole County was passed for the purpose of securing the above loan.

On 18 April public notice was given in the press of the Council’s intention to—

“ Make and levy a special rate of 0·07d. in the pound on the rateable capital value of the whole County for the purpose of securing a loan authorized for the purchase of land and dwelling at Springfield.”

At the Council meeting held on the 6th instant this motion was passed.

STRIKING OF RATE AS SECURITY

Electricity Development Loan 1952, £80,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the South Canterbury Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of eighty thousand pounds (£80,000), authorized to be raised by the South Canterbury Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of further reticulation of the South Canterbury Electric-power District, the said South Canterbury Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of six hundredths of one penny (0·06d.) in the pound (£1) upon the rateable value (being the capital value) of all rateable property within the South Canterbury Electric-power district as constituted by Proclamation dated 20 October 1922 and published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 76, dated 26 October 1922, and as amended by Proclamation dated 29 February 1928 and published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 19, dated 8 March 1928, and as further amended by Proclamation dated 7 December 1928 and published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 93, dated 13 December 1928 : and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the Patangata County Council proposes to execute a certain public work—namely, to provide a road—and for such road the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken ; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited at the offices of the Patangata County Council, Northumberland Street, Waipukurau, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land who have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice, to the Patangata County Council at its offices in Northumberland Street, Waipukurau.
