The Standards Act 1941—Amendment of Standard Specification
NOTICE is hereby given that on 16 April 1952, the under-mentioned standard specification was amended by the Minister of Industries and Commerce by incorporation of the amendment shown hereunder:

Naval Gunnery Practice
NAVAL gunnery practice will be carried out by H.M.N.Z.S. "Bellona" as follows :—

(a) Date of shoot: 6 June 1952. (b) Time : 0700 hrs. (c) Place : Westward of a line joining Bollons Rock Buoy and Kawau Point. (d) Danger height: 15,000 ft.

(a) Date of shoot: 6 June 1952. (b) Duration of shoot: 0930 hrs. to 1130 hrs. (c) Danger area bounded by: Bounded on the north by a line drawn 090° from Hill 225, Whangaparaoa Peninsula, on the east by part of a line joining Bollons Rock buoy and Gardiners Gap, and on the south by parallel of latitude 36° 45' S.
All firings will be to eastward.

Notice to Persons Affected by Applications for Licences Under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act 1936
Pharmacy Industry
S. V. Evans, Grey Lynn, Auckland, has applied for a licence to operate a new pharmacy at Tripoli Road or Hobson Drive, Tamaki, Auckland.
P. G. Mackay, Owairaka, Auckland, has applied for a licence to operate a new pharmacy at Broadway, Kaikohe.
Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit
Cargill and Bell, Whangaehu, have applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed at store premises Main Road, Whangaehu.
J. R. Day, Ltd., Dunedin, have applied for permission to change the retail selling point of their petrol pumps from their present position in 78 Vogel Street to a new site at the corner of Cumberland, Gordon, and Vogel Streets, Dunedin, and to install one additional pump there.
D. Bretherton and Sons, Ltd., Dunedin, have applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed at store premises, corner Taieri and Helensburgh Roads, Wakari, Dunedin.
Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 15 May 1952 submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. All communications should be addressed to Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 2492, Wellington.

Law Practitioners Amendment Act 1935
PURSUANT to the Law Practitioners Amendment Act 1935, notice is hereby given that the Disciplinary Committee of the New Zealand Law Society on the 20th day of March 1952 ordered that the name of Richard John Seddon Bean be removed at his own request from the roll of solicitors of the Supreme Court of New Zealand to enable him to apply for admission as barrister in England.

The Law Practitioners Amendment Act 1935
PURSUANT to the Law Practitioners Amendment Act 1935, notice is hereby given that the Disciplinary Committee of the New Zealand Law Society on the 20th day of March 1952 ordered that the name of Harold Jowett, of Petone, be struck off the rolls of barristers and solicitors of the Supreme Court of New Zealand and that he pay the sum of thirty guineas costs.

Licensing Control Commission—Awarding Compensation to Owners
TAKE notice that, pursuant to the provisions of the Licensing Amendment Act 1948, the Commission has awarded the following amounts of compensation to the undermentioned owners, consequent upon cancellation of the publicans’ licences in respect of the premises shown below :—
"Elbow" Hotel, at Lumsden. George Albert Hoskin, care of Messrs. Ferens and Jeavons, Solicitors, 7 Bond Street, Dunedin, as owner, the sum of £7,990.
"Great Western" Hotel, at Riverton. Leonard Thomas Hanifin, care of Messrs. Stout, Hewat, and Moller, Solicitors, 37 Esk Street, Invercargill, as owner, the sum of £6,158.
"Wallace County" Hotel, at Riverton. Joseph Reid, care of Messrs. Bannerman, Brydone, and Folster, Solicitors, Mersey Street, Gore, as owner, the sum of £6,628.
And further take notice that no person (other than the above-named persons and other than a person claiming a lien as mortgagee) shall be entitled to receive the compensation or make any claim in respect of the compensation awarded unless notice in writing of such claim, stating whether compensation is claimed by him as owner or as licensee, is lodged with the Commission within six weeks of the 1st day of May 1952, being the date of publication of this notice in the Gazette ; and further take notice that any mortgagee from an owner or licensee shall, upon giving written notice to the Commission within one month after the 1st day of May 1952 aforesaid, have a lien on the amount of compensation payable to the mortgagor for the amount of the mortgage debt, and any interest or other charges owing to the mortgagee under or in respect of the mortgage.
