Crown Land Subject to Certain Rights Set Apart for a Workers' Hostel
in the Borough of Huntly

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Bernard Cyril,
Baron Freyberg, the Governor-General of New Zealand,
hereby proclaim and declare that the Crown land described in the
First Schedule hereto is hereby set apart, subject to the mining
rights and certain easements created by Transfer No. 13479, Auckland
Land Registry, for a workers' hostel; and I also proclaim
and declare that the Crown land described in the Second Schedule
hereto is hereby set apart, subject to the mining and incidental
rights contained in Conveyance No. 119589 (R. 41/265), Auckland
Land Registry, for a workers' hostel; and I further declare that
this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 28th day of
April 1952.

FIRST SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of Crown land set apart : 3 roods
10Β·7 perches.
Being all the land on D.P. 9084, being portion of Allotments 38
and 38a, Parish of Pepepe, situated in the Borough of Huntly,
and being the whole of the land comprised and described in
certificate of title, Volume 224, folio 109 (Auckland Land
Registry).

SECOND SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of Crown land set apart : 3 acres
22 perches.
Being part Allotment 39, Parish of Pepepe, situated in Block XV,
Rangiriri Survey District, Borough of Huntly (Auckland R.D.).
(S.O. 35288.)
In the South Auckland Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 135962, deposited
in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon
coloured yellow.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 18th day
of April 1952.

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Bernard Cyril,
Baron Freyberg, the Governor-General of New Zealand,
hereby proclaim and declare that the leasehold estate in the land
described in the Schedule hereto, held by the Bay of Plenty Winter
Show Association (Incorporated) from the Whakatane Harbour
Board, under and by virtue of Memorandum of Lease Registered
No. 818586 (Auckland Registry), is hereby taken for a drill-shed;
and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and
after the 28th.day of April 1952.

SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land in respect of which the
leasehold estate is taken : 2 roods 8Β·63 perches.
Being Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 22149, being Section 31 and part Sections 5
and 7, Block II, Whakatane Survey District, situated in the
Borough of Whakatane, and being the whole of the land com-
prised and described in certificate of title, Volume 601, folio
48, and part of the land comprised and described in certificates
of title, Volume 632, folio 150, and Volume 380, folio 83
(Auckland Registry).
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 21st day

Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Bernard Cyril,
Baron Freyberg, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby
proclaim and declare that the portion of public reserve described in
the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for housing purposes; and I
also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the
28th day of April 1952.

SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the portion of public reserve taken : 2 acres
2 roods 11 perches.
Being part D.P. 1837, being part of the original bed of the Otago
Harbour.
Situated in the Borough of Port Chalmers (Otago R.D.). (S.O.
11553.)
In the Otago Land District; as the same is more particularly
delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 136782, deposited in the
office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured
blue.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 15th day
of April 1952.

Constituting the Borough of Mount Wellington

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of
April 1952
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 135 of the Municipal Corpora-
tions Act 1933, a petition was presented to the Governor-
General praying that the area comprising the Road District of
Mount Wellington be constituted a borough.
And whereas, pursuant to section 24 of the Local Government
Commission Act 1946, the said petition was referred to the Local
Government Commission:
And whereas, pursuant to the Local Government Commission
Act 1946, the Local Government Commission has made inquiry
into the proposal and has approved as final a scheme bearing date
the 16th day of April 1952, providing for the said area to be consti-
tuted a borough :
And whereas it is deemed expedient to give effect to the final
scheme as hereinafter appearing:
Now, therefore, pursuant to the Local Government Commission
Act 1946, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders
and declares :-

  1. That as on and from the 3rd day of May 1952, the area
    described in the Schedule hereto shall be constituted a borough.
  2. That the name of the said borough shall be the Borough of
    Mount Wellington.
  3. That the number of Councillors of the said borough shall
    be six, exclusive of the Mayor.
  4. That Lionel Arthur Young, of Mount Wellington, shall be
    the Returning Officer to conduct the first election of Mayor and
    Councillors of the said borough.
  5. That the said Lionel Arthur Young shall be the Town Clerk
    and the person to prepare the district electors' roll for the purposes
    of the said first election.
  6. That the first election of Mayor and Councillors of the said
    borough shall be held on Saturday, the 5th day of July 1952.
  7. That the first meeting of the Council of the said borough
    shall be held on Monday, the 14th day of July 1952, at 7 p.m., in
    the Road Board Office at Mount Wellingt
