HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve the following appointments, transfers, termination of commission, and resignations of officers of the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

REGULAR AIR FORCE ADMINISTRATIVE AND SUPPLY BRANCH Appointment Equipment Division— Flight Lieutenant Ulysses Ian Dalgleish RUNCIMAN (70307) is granted a short-service commission for a period of five years in his present rank and seniority. Dated 1 October 1951.

TERRITORIAL AIR FORCE GENERAL DUTIES BRANCH Appointments As Pilots— Squadron Leader (temp.) James Ralph COURT, D.F.C. (130701), is transferred from the Reserve of Air Force Officers to the Territorial Air Force for a period of one year in his present rank and seniority. Dated 1 January 1952.

Flight Lieutenant (temp.) Allan Archibald WATSON, D.F.C. (131766), is transferred from the Reserve of Air Force Officers to the Territorial Air Force for a period of four years in his present rank and with seniority as from date of appointment. Dated 1 January 1952.

Flying Officer (temp.) Richard Basil ROBERTON (133409) is transferred from the Reserve of Air Force Officers to the Territorial Air Force for a period of three years in his present rank and with seniority as from date of appointment. Dated 1 January 1952.

Flying Officer (temp.) Vernon Charles DUCKMANTON (131341) is transferred from the Reserve of Air Force Officers to the Territorial Air Force for a period of three years in his present rank and with seniority as from date of appointment. Dated 1 January 1952.

Resignation Flying Officer (temp.) Lance Raymond CORICH (130089) resigns his commission. Dated 31 October 1951.

ADMINISTRATIVE AND SUPPLY BRANCH Appointment Special Duties Division— Charles Ewen Wilders EVISON is granted a commission for a period of five years in the substantive rank of Flying Officer, with seniority as from 17 January 1939. Dated 1 July 1949.

Flying Officer Charles Ewen Wilders Evison (130736) is granted the temporary rank of Flight Lieutenant. Dated 24 July 1949.

RESERVE OF AIR FORCE OFFICERS Appointments The undermentioned are granted commissions in the General Duties Branch for a period of four years :— William Leslie BRIDGET in the rank of Flight Lieutenant, with seniority as from 16 February 1944. Dated 18 October 1951.

Edward Francis EDWARDS in the rank of Flight Lieutenant, with seniority as from 17 May 1944. Dated 10 November 1951.

John Henry ARKWRIGHT, D.F.C., in the rank of Flight Lieutenant, with seniority as from 1 September 1945. Dated 18 October 1951.

Raymond William ROLFE in the rank of Flight Lieutenant, with seniority as from 16 February 1947. Dated 10 November 1951.

Maurice Edward DARE in the rank of Flying Officer, with seniority as from 22 February 1946. Dated 21 October 1951.

Thomas Hugh MacGIBBON in the rank of Flying Officer, with seniority as from 4 April 1946. Dated 19 June 1951.

William Jack Niccolis in the rank of Flying Officer, with seniority as from 20 April 1946. Dated 18 October 1951.

Transfers Flight Lieutenant (temp.) Matthew Garry BARNETT, D.F.C. (130101), is transferred from the Territorial Air Force to the General Duties Branch, Reserve of Air Force Officers, in the rank of Squadron Leader, with seniority as from 6 April 1945. Dated 1 December 1951.

Flight Lieutenant (temp.) Wesley Leonard Jacobsen (130890) is transferred from the Territorial Air Force to the Administrative and Supply Branch, Equipment Division, Reserve of Air Force Officers, in his present rank and seniority. Dated 1 November 1951.

Flight Lieutenant Ian Leslie SHEPHERD, M.B., Ch.B. (75421), is transferred from the Active List to the Reserve of Air Force Officers for a period of four years in his present rank and seniority. Dated 27 January 1952.

Resignation Squadron Leader William Maurice Brown, B.A. (74143), resigns his commission. Dated 4 January 1952.

Termination of Commission The commission of Flight Lieutenant (temp.) Ian Edward Mein Watts, M.Sc., A.R.A.N.Z. (1437), is terminated. Dated 1 January 1952.

Cancellation The notice appearing in the New Zealand Gazette No. 62, dated 28 September 1950, page 1788, under the heading, “Reserve of Air Force Officers—Appointments” in so far as it relates to “130947 Squadron Leader John Allan HETHERTON, D.F.C.,” is hereby cancelled.

MEDICAL BRANCH Amendment The notice appearing in the New Zealand Gazette No. 10, dated 7 February 1952, page 177, under the heading “Medical Branch—Extension of Commission” relating to “Flight Lieutenant Andrew Douglas CAIRD, M.B., Ch.B. (73534)” is hereby amended to read “Squadron Leader (temp.)” in lieu of “Flight Lieutenant.”
