The Servicemen's Settlement Act 1950βNotice Declaring Land Taken
for Settlement of Discharged Servicemen
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of
the Land Valuation Court to a transaction which relates to
the land described in the Schedule hereto, and to which Part II of
the Servicemen's Settlement Act 1950, applies :
And whereas the purchaser of the said land is neither a dis-
charged serviceman nor a child or grandchild of the vendor:
And whereas the Land Valuation Committee to which the said
application was referred, not being satisfied that the Crown had
decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the said
land, did on the 21st day of December 1951 adjourn the said
application:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of
section 31 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is
taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby
specifies the 31st day of January 1952 as the date on which the
said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
All those parcels of land situated in Blocks IV and VIII, Pakiri
Survey District, together containing by admeasurement three
hundred and ninety-five (395) acres one (1) rood fifteen (15) perches,
more or less, being Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, and 9 on Deposited Plan
31093, being Allotments 94, 95, 96, S 71 and parts of Allotments
N. 45, S. 45, 46, 70, N. 71, and S.E. 72, Arai Parish, and being all
of the land described in certificate of title, Volume 825, folio 88
(Auckland Registry).

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by the Post and
Telegraph Act 1928 (hereinafter termed the said Act) and
by the regulations made on 12 May 1914 and published in the
New Zealand Gazette of 21 May 1914, the following officers, at the
addresses set against their names, are hereby appointed transmitting
and receiving officers for the purpose of dealing with all notices by
telegraph sent under the said Act or regulations, and of signing
such certificates in relation to the service of any such notices as
are required or authorized to be signed or given under the said Act
or the regulations aforesaid:

Notice of Intention to Take Land for Scenic Purposes in Block XIV,
Bruce Bay Survey District
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the pro-
visions of the Public Works Act 1928 and the Scenery
Preservation Act 1908, to take the land described in the Schedule
hereto for scenic purposes; and notice is hereby further given that
the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the
post-office at Bruce Bay and is there open for inspection; and that
all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they
have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set
forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days
from the first publication of this notice to the Minister of Works
at Wellington.

Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of
the Transport Act 1949, Section 36
IN terms of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of
Transport doth hereby declare the areas described in the
Schedule hereto to be closely populated localities for the purposes
of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-
vehicle on any road therein shall be subject to the maximum speed-
limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.
SCHEDULE
SITUATED within Coromandel County : All that area at Whitianga
consisting of the Coromandel-Mercury Bay Main Highway No. 309
commencing at its junction with a road approximately 32 chains
measured in a southerly direction from the Whitianga Post Office
and terminating at the end of the said main highway at Whitianga,
and also the Whitianga-Kuaotunu Road commencing at the end of
the aforesaid main highway at Whitianga and terminating at a
point 1 mile measured generally in a northerly direction from the
Whitianga Post Office.
Situated within Thames County : All that area at Whangamata
consisting of Leander Road and also that portion of Whangamata
Port Road commencing at a point 3 chains south-west of its junction
with Leander Road and terminating at the river estuary.

the Transport Act 1949, Section 36
PURSUANT to section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, the Minister

Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of
the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-

SITUATED within Manukau County : All that area at Maraetai con-
sisting of School Road and also of that portion of the Whitford-
Maraetai Main Highway No. 487 commencing at its junction with
School Road, proceeding thence generally in an easterly direction,
and terminating at the end of the said main highway at Maraetai.
Also all that portion of the Maraetai Coast Road commencing at the
end of the said main highway and terminating at a point 18 chains
measured in an easterly direction along the said road from the end
of the said main highway.

and including also that portion of the Bryant Home Main Highway
No. 573 commencing at its junction with the Hamilton-Raglan
Main Highway and terminating at its junction with the Raglan - Te
Hutewai Road.

Revoking a Warrant Declaring an Area to be a Closely Populated
Locality for the Purposes of Section 36 of the Transport Act,
1949
PURSUANT to section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 and to all
other powers enabling him in that behalf, the Minister of
Transport doth hereby revoke the Warrant dated the 24th day of
March 1941* which declares portion of the Mount Roskill Road
District to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the
said section.
