Domain Board Appointed to Have Control of the Lake Rotoroa Domain

At the Government House at Wellington, this 4th day of January 1952.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 44 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby appoints

A member to be appointed by the Nelson Progress League, ex-officio,

Edwin Malcolm Brown,

Hubert Francis Flower,

Thomas William Monahan,

George Washington Oxnarn,

Bertrand Charle Maurice Spiers, and

Ivan McDonald Stobie,

to be the Lake Rotoroa Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto, and hereby appoints Thursday, the 17th day of January 1952, at 8 o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Council Chambers, Murchison, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by section 40 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1925, I, Bernard Cyril, Baron Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

to be a Conciliation Commissioner under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act; appointment to be dated from the 22nd day of December 1951.

PURSUANT to section 42 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act 1928, I, Bernard Cyril, Baron Freyberg, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby declare that that portion of the Mead Domain, described in the Schedule hereto, shall, from and after the 1st day of February 1952, be set apart as a site for a public hall.

Land Reserved in the Canterbury Land District

FREYBERG, Governor-General

WHEREAS by section 167 of the Land Act 1948 it is enacted that the Governor-General may, from time to time, set apart as a reserve, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral lease or pastoral occupation licence, any Crown land for any purpose which, in his opinion, is desirable in the public interest, and notice thereof shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette:

Now, therefore, pursuant to the said Act, I, Bernard Cyril, Baron Freyberg, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby reserve, subject to the reservations and conditions imposed by section 59 of the Land Act 1948, and subject also to the reservations imposed by section 8 of the Coal Mines Amendment Act 1950, the land in the Canterbury Land District described in the Schedule hereto for a site for a memorial hall.

ALL that area situated in Block V, Rangiora Survey District, containing by admeasurement 29·4 perches, more or less, being Lot 1 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Christchurch under No. 15562, and being part Reserve 628.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Harbours Act 1950, I, Bernard Cyril, Baron Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

Robert Edward Gordon Lee

to be a member of the Wellington Harbour Board as a representative of the electors of the Counties of Wairarapa South, Masterton, Pahiatua, Akitio, Ekctahuna, Mauriceville, Castlepoint, and Featherston, and of the Boroughs of Martinborough, Greytown, Carterton, Masterton, Ekctahuna, Featherston, and Pahiatua, in place of Hugh Morrison, resigned, to hold office until the third Saturday of November 1953.
