NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of the Regulations Act 1936 of the making of regulations as under :—

Board of Trade Notice No. 18—Review of Import Licensing
Board of Trade, 10 October 1951.
NOTICE is hereby given :—
(1) That, in response to Board of Trade Notice No. 4, the Board has received statements of objections to the exemption from import licensing in respect of goods from other than scheduled countries comprised in the following item, namely :—
T.I. 397 . . . Paints, colours, varnishes, and similar materials, &c. :
(2) That persons, firms, or organizations considering themselves or their members likely to be materially affected by the continuance of the import licensing of these goods and desirous of lodging an objection to such continuance, must do so in writing by sending five copies of the statement of objections addressed to the undersigned so as to reach him on or before 14 November 1951 :
(3) That each statement lodged as above should state clearly but concisely the grounds of objection to continuance :
(4) That the Board desires to hear oral representations in regard to the objections and has fixed a hearing for Wednesday, 28 November 1951, at 10.30 a.m., in the Board Room, 1st Floor, Departmental Building, Stout Street, Wellington : and
(5) That those persons, firms, or organizations who have objected in writing to the exemption from licensing or who in response to this notice lodge objections in writing to the continuance of licensing, may attend the hearing referred to in (4) above.

Board of Trade Notice No. 19—Review of Import Licensing
Board of Trade, 12 October 1951.
NOTICE is hereby given :—
(1) That, in response to Board of Trade Notice No. 4, the Board has received statements of objections to the exemption from import licensing in respect of goods from other than scheduled countries comprised in the following items, namely :—
Ex T.I. 136 (9) . . Knitted outerwear of wool ; knitted outerwear other than of wool ; babies’ clothing suited for wear by infants up to the age of two years ; bathing costumes :
(2) That persons, firms, or organizations considering themselves or their members likely to be materially affected by the continuance of the import licensing of these goods and desirous of lodging an objection to such continuance, must do so in writing by sending five copies of the statement of objections addressed to the undersigned so as to reach him on or before 16 November 1951 :
(3) That each statement lodged as above should state clearly but concisely the grounds of objection to continuance :
(4) That the Board desires to hear oral representations in regard to the objections and has fixed a hearing for Tuesday, 4 December 1951, at 10.30 a.m., in the Board Room, 1st Floor, Departmental Building, Stout Street, Wellington : and
(5) That those persons, firms, or organizations who have objected in writing to the exemption from licensing or who in response to this notice lodge objections in writing to the continuance of licensing, may attend the hearing referred to in (4) above.

THE following notices, received by the Right Hon. the Minister of Finance from the Mayor of the Borough of Wairoa, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926.

Declaration of Poll—Water Reticulation Extensions Loan
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Wairoa, taken on this 6th day of October 1951, on the proposal of the Wairoa Borough Council to borrow the sum of £16,600 for the Water Reticulation Renewal Loan 1951 :—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 166.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 59.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
Dated this 8th day of October 1951.

WAIROA BOROUGH COUNCIL
Declaration of Poll—Hunter-Brown Estate Purchase Loan
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Wairoa, taken on this 6th day of October 1951, on the proposal of the Wairoa Borough Council to borrow the sum of £3,300 for the purchase of the 21½ acres, being Lots 69/73, D.P. 1584, and Part Orangitirohia Block No. 6, commonly known as the Hunter-Brown Estate :—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 84.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 140.
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.
