The Standards Act 1941—Amendment of Standard Specification

NOTICE is hereby given that on the 20th day of September 1951 the undermentioned standard specification was amended by the Minister of Industries and Commerce by the incorporation of the amendment shown hereunder :

Applications for copies of the standard specification so amended should be made to the New Zealand Standards Institute, Hamilton Chambers, 201 Lambton Quay, Wellington C.1 (P.O. Box 195). Copies of the amendment will be supplied free of charge to all purchasers of the standard specification.

The Standards Act 1941—Draft New Zealand Standard Specification—No. D. 3866 : Standing Orders for Municipalities

NOTICE is hereby given that the above draft New Zealand Standard Specification is now being circulated to affected interests for consideration and comment. The closing date fixed for such comment is 21 December 1951.

All persons who may be affected by this specification once it has been declared a standard specification by the Minister of Industries and Commerce may, at any time before the closing date for comments, obtain, on application, free copies from the New Zealand Standards Institute, Hamilton Chambers, 201 Lambton Quay, Wellington, so as to have an opportunity to consider the draft and to comment thereon to the Standards Council or to an appropriate committee of the Council in accordance with subsection (3) of section 8 of the Standards Act 1941.

NOTICE is hereby given that, on the 20th day of September 1951, the undermentioned standard specification was revoked by the Minister of Industries and Commerce pursuant to section 8 of the Standards Act 1941, in conjunction with regulation 8 of the Standards Regulations 1947 :—

Board of Trade Notice No. 15—Review of Import Licensing

Board of Trade, 27 September 1951.

NOTICE is hereby given :—

(1) That, in response to Board of Trade Notice No. 3, the Board has received statements of objections to the exemption from import licensing in respect of goods from other than scheduled countries comprised in the following item, namely :—

T.I. ex 136 (6) . . Men’s and boys’ overcoats n.e.i., suits, coats, trousers, waistcoats, and similar articles (excluding dress vests) :

(2) That persons, firms, or organizations considering themselves or their members likely to be materially affected by the continuance of the import licensing of these goods and desirous of lodging an objection to such continuance, must do so in writing by sending five copies of the statement of objections addressed to the undersigned so as to reach him on or before 19 October 1951 :

(3) That each statement lodged as above should state clearly but concisely the grounds of objection to continuance :

(4) That the Board desires to hear oral representations in regard to the objections and has fixed a hearing for Wednesday, 31 October 1951, at 10.30 a.m., in the Board Room, 1st Floor, Departmental Building, Stout Street, Wellington : and

(5) That those persons, firms, or organizations who have objected in writing to the exemption from licensing or who in response to this notice lodge objections in writing to the continuance of licensing, may attend the hearing referred to in (4) above.

Board of Trade Notice No. 16—Review of Import Licensing

Board of Trade, 1 October 1951.

NOTICE is hereby given :—

(1) That, in response to Board of Trade Notice No. 3, the Board has received statements of objections to the exemption from import licensing in respect of goods from other than scheduled countries comprised in the following item, namely :—

T.I. 136 (7) . . Hosiery, all kinds :

(2) That persons, firms, or organizations considering themselves or their members likely to be materially affected by the continuance of the import licensing of these goods and desirous of lodging an objection to such continuance, must do so in writing by sending five copies of the statement of objections addressed to the undersigned so as to reach him on or before 26 October 1951 :

(3) That each statement lodged as above should state clearly but concisely the grounds of objection to continuance :

(4) That the Board desires to hear oral representations in regard to the objections and has fixed a hearing for Tuesday, 6 November 1951, at 10.30 a.m., in the Board Room, 1st Floor, Departmental Building, Stout Street, Wellington : and

(5) That those persons, firms, or organizations who have objected in writing to the exemption from licensing, or who in response to this notice lodge objections in writing to the continuance of licensing, may attend the hearing referred to in (4) above.

Declaration of Result of Election of Producers’ Representative on the Honey Marketing Committee

I, RONALD WILL IRWIN MILLAR, Returning Officer for the purposes of the election of one (1) producers’ representative for appointment to the Honey Marketing Committee, established under the Honey Marketing Committee Regulations 1948, made under the Marketing Act 1936 and the Agriculture (Emergency Powers) Act 1934, do hereby declare the following producers to have been duly nominated, namely :—

Robert Davidson,
James John Gavin, and
William Thompson Herron.

As three nominations were received for the one vacancy to be filled, a poll was taken on Wednesday, 26th day of September 1951. As a result of the said poll, I hereby declare the result as follows :—

Total number of valid votes polled .. 2,980

I therefore declare the said William Thompson Herron to be elected for appointment to such office.
