Amendment

The notice appearing in the New Zealand Gazette No. 43, dated 31st May, 1951, page 781, under the heading “Territorial Air Force—General Duties Branch—Termination of Commission,” and relating to “133488 Pilot Officer (on prob.) Bruce Maxwell GODDARD,” is hereby amended to read “Dated 13th May, 1951,” in lieu of “Dated 30th April, 1951.”

70084 Flight Lieutenant Ernest James DYER is transferred from the Active List to the Reserve of Air Force Officers for a period of four years, in his present rank and seniority. Dated 16th April, 1951.

130627 Flight Lieutenant (temp.) William Moore BURGE is transferred from the Territorial Air Force to the Reserve of Air Force Officers for a period of four years, in his present rank and seniority. Dated 1st June, 1951.

PURSUANT to section 41 of the Forest and Rural Fires Act, 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Osborne Gunning Stevens, Esquire, Deputy Judge of the Court of Arbitration,

Francis William Foster

to be members of the Fires Appeal Tribunal constituted under section 41 of the Forest and Rural Fires Act, 1947, for a term of three years from the 20th day of August, 1951, and to appoint the said

Osborne Gunning Stevens, Esquire,

to be Chairman of the said Tribunal.

THE following special order, made by the Waitemata County Council on the 21st day of June, 1951, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950.

SPECIAL ORDER

THAT, in pursuance of the powers conferred upon it by the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950, the Waitemata County Council, doth hereby declare Water Hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes), referred to in the First Schedule of the aforementioned Act, to be a noxious weed within the territory under its jurisdiction.

SPECIAL ORDER

In exercise of the authority contained in section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950, the Balclutha Borough Council hereby resolves that the following plants be declared noxious weeds within the Borough of Balclutha :—

Bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis).

Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus).

Californian thistle, Canadian thistle, or Creeping thistle (Cirsium arvense).

Common Broom (Cytisus scoparius).

Gorse (Ulex, any species).

Hemlock (Conium maculatum).

Lupin (Lupinus arboreus).

Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea).

Spiny broom (Calycotome spinosa).

Sweetbrier (Rosa eglanteria syn. Rosa rubiginosa).

Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes).

Winged thistle (Carduus tenuiflorus and Carduus pycnocephalus).
