Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the North Shore Scenic
Board

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon him by section 13 of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908,
His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in
the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act), in
trust for the purposes of scenery preservation, as from the date of
this notice until the 30th day of November, 1954 (unless previously
altered or revoked under the said Act), in the North Shore Scenic
Board, as constituted by notification dated the 1st day of December,
1949, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 8th day of
that month.


SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area situated in Block XII, Waitemata Survey District,
containing by admeasurement 2 roods 25·71 perches, more or less,
being Lot 69 as shown on a plan deposited in the Land Registry
Office at Auckland under No. 18327, being part Allotment 94,
Parish of Takapuna.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 10th day of August, 1951.

Vesting the Control of Scenic Reserves in the Taihape Borough Council

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon him by section 13 of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908
(hereinafter referred to as the said Act), His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the
control of the scenic reserves described in the Schedule hereto
(being lands reserved under the said Act) in the Taihape Borough
Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to
say:—

  1. The period for which the control of the reserves is hereby
    vested shall be ten years from the date hereof, unless the reservation
    is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.

  2. The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on
    the 31st day of March, together with a statement of receipts and
    expenditure in connection with the said reserves. Such report and
    statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the adminis-
    tration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.

  3. The said Council shall control the said reserves in accordance
    with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made
    thereunder.


SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT—TAIHAPE SCENIC RESERVES
All that area containing by admeasurement 200 acres 1 rood
6 perches, more or less, being Sections 63, 64, 79, 80, and part
Section 62, Block XIV, Ohinewairua Survey District. As the same
is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/343B,
deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at
Wellington, and thereon edged red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 10th day of August, 1951.

Captain (temp. Major) J. F. Spring, is appointed D.A.Q.M.G.,
Headquarters, N.Z. Division, in addition to his present appoint-
ment of D.A.Q.M.G., Headquarters, Central Military District.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) T. W. Straker is posted to the
Retired List with the rank of Captain. Dated 23rd July, 1951.

List with the rank of Captain. Dated 23rd July, 1951.

Captain (temp. Major) L. A. Pearce is appointed G.S.O. 2 Head-
quarters, N.Z. Division, in addition to his present appointment
of G.S.O. 2 (Training), Army Headquarters. Dated 1st August,
1951.

Lieutenant and Quartermaster E. W. Round to be Captain
and Quartermaster. Dated 5th July, 1951.

Territorial Force—

The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own)—

Lieutenant D. S. Ross, 1st Battalion, to be temp. Captain.
Dated 1st April, 1951.

Temp. Lieutenant A. R. Oliver, 1st Battalion, to be Lieutenant,
with seniority from 12th June, 1941. Dated 30th July, 1951.

The Canterbury Regiment—

Temp. Lieutenant E. G. Webber, M.B.E., from the Reserve
of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Captain, with seniority from
1st April, 1949, and is seconded to Headquarters, Southern Military
District, as Public Relations Officer. Dated 5th July, 1951.

Temp. Lieutenant J. B. Taylor, 1st Battalion, is posted to the
Retired List with the rank of Lieutenant. Dated 23rd July, 1951.

The Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment—

Captain A. C. Wood, D.C.M., 1st Battalion, is transferred to
the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Infantry
Corps, with the rank of Captain. Dated 20th June, 1951.

Lieutenant C. A. C. Cater, 1st Battalion, to be temp. Captain.
Dated 9th May, 1951.

William George Rennie to be 2nd Lieutenant and is posted to
the 1st Battalion. Dated 20th May, 1951.

THE ROYAL N.Z. ARMY MEDICAL CORPS

Territorial Force—

1st General Hospital, R.N.Z.A.M.C.—

Lieutenant (on prob.) J. E. Church, M.B., Ch.B., is transferred
to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 1st General Hospital,
R.N.Z.A.M.C., with the rank of Lieutenant (on prob.), with seniority
from 14th April, 1949. Dated 20th June, 1951.

THE ROYAL N.Z. ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS

Territorial Force—

Captain A. W. Wilkin, from the Reserve of Officers, Supple-
mentary List, to be Captain, with seniority from 22nd January,
1949, and is seconded to Headquarters, 3rd Infantry Brigade, for
duty as Brigade Ordnance Officer. Dated 22nd September, 1950.

N.Z. ARMY NURSING SERVICE

Territorial Force—

Sister (temp. Matron-in-Chief) E. C. Mackay, O.B.E., R.R.C.,
to be Matron-in-Chief, with seniority from 23rd February, 1946.
Dated 1st December, 1948.

Sister I. K. Hogg ceases to be posted to the 1st General Hospital,
R.N.Z.A.M.C., and resigns her commission. Dated 11th June, 1951.

N.Z. CADET CORPS

Otago Boys’ High School Cadets—

Captain T. L. Bailey is appointed O.C., Otago Boys’ High
School Cadets, and is granted the temporary rank of Major whilst
so employed. Dated 23rd July, 1951.

RESERVE OF OFFICERS

Regimental List—

9th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A.—

Lieutenant N. M. Thomson is transferred to the Reserve of
Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Artillery, with the rank of
Lieutenant. Dated 19th July, 1951.

2nd Armoured Regiment (Divisional Regiment), R.N.Z.A.C.—

Major W. P. Hayes is transferred to the Reserve of Officers,
General List, The Royal N.Z. Armoured Corps, with the rank of
Major. Dated 16th July, 1951.
