PURSUANT to subsection (4) of section 130 of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council dated the 20th day of March, 1946, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 16 of the 21st day of the same month at page 350, vesting in the Hawke’s Bay Catchment Board the control of watercourses in the Hawke’s Bay Catchment District.

Revoking an Order in Council Declaring Certain Maori Land to be
Inalienable

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 474 of the Maori Land Act, 1931, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council made pursuant to section 118 of the Maori Land Amendment Act, 1913 (now section 474 of the Maori Land Act, 1931), on the 22nd day of October, 1924, and published in New Zealand Gazette No. 70 on the 30th October, 1924, at page 2607, and affecting the land described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

ALL that parcel of land comprised in a partition order of the Maori Land Court dated 23rd November, 1923, containing 85 acres 3 roods 7 perches, more or less, situate in Blocks III and IV, Purua Survey District, and being called or known as the Matarau 2B and 3A Block.

Conferring the Powers of a Tribal Executive Upon a Tribal Committee

PURSUANT to section 7 of the Maori Purposes Act, 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby confer upon the Rauhotu Tribal Committee all of the powers conferred upon a tribal executive by the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945, including the power to make by-laws, notwithstanding the provisions of section 19 or section 20 of that Act.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the land described in the First Schedule hereto forms part of a reserve duly set apart for recreation purposes: And whereas it is expedient that the said land should be exchanged for the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, which the Governor-General deems of equal value and more suitable for the purposes of the reserve:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section 8 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that the land described in the First Schedule hereto may be exchanged for the land described in the Second Schedule hereto.

Westland Land District

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 1 rood 9 perches, more or less, being part Lot 12 as shown on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Hokitika under No. 905, being part of Section 2714, Block III, Waimea Survey District, and being part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 37, folio 58 (Westland Registry). As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/1286A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

SECOND SCHEDULE
DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR
Westland Land District

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 1 rood 9 perches, more or less, being Lot 3 as shown on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Hokitika under No. 1175, being part of Section 2714, Block III, Waimea Survey District, and being part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 41, folio 175 (Westland Registry).

Vesting a Reserve in the Tauranga County Council

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart as a reserve for quarry purposes: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General it is expedient to vest the said reserve in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Tauranga:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section 9 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Tauranga, in trust, for quarry purposes.

Recreation Reserve in the North Auckland Land District Brought

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by section 34 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the reserve for recreation in the North Auckland Land District described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of Part II of the said Act, and such reserve shall hereafter form part of the Mount Eden Domain, and be managed, administered, and dealt with as a public domain by the Mount Eden Domain Board.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALLOTMENT 121, Section 6, Suburbs of Auckland, situated in Block XVI, Waitemata Survey District: Area, 27·08 perches, more or less (S.O. plan 35139s). Subject to the reservations and conditions imposed by section 59 of the Land Act, 1948, and subject also to the reservations imposed by section 8 of the Coal Mines Amendment Act, 1950.
