Dissolving the General Assembly

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS the General Assembly of New Zealand stands prorogued to the 23rd day of August, 1951, and I have thought fit to dissolve it:
Now, therefore, pursuant to the New Zealand Constitution Act, 1852, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby dissolve the General Assembly as from the date hereof.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 27th day of July, 1951.
