Price Order No. 1270 (Amendment No. 1 of Price Order No. 1224)
(Eggs : Invercargill)

PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal,
acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and
Commerce, hereby makes the following amending Price Order:

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1270, and shall
    be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 1224*
    (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).
  2. This Order shall come into force on the 30th day of July, 1951.
  3. The principal Order is hereby amended by revoking clauses
    6 and 7, and substituting the following clauses:
    "WHOLESALE PRICES
    "6. The maximum price that may be charged or received by
    any wholesaler (including a producer selling otherwise than by way
    of retail) for any eggs to which this Order applies, shall be :
    Per Dozen.
    s. d.
    "For Hen-eggs—
    "First Grade ... ... ... ... 2 8½
    "Pullet Grade ... ... ... ... 2 0½
    "For Duck-eggs—
    "Large ... ... ... ... 2 8½
    "Small ... ... ... ... 2 6½
    "RETAIL PRICES
    "7. The maximum price that may be charged or received by
    any retailer for any eggs to which this Order applies shall be:
    Per Dozen.
    s. d.
    "For Hen-eggs—
    "First Grade ... ... ... ... 3 1
    "Pullet Grade ... ... ... ... 2 4½
    "For Duck-eggs—

(New Zealand Lemons Other Than Meyer Lemons)

PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price
Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries
and Commerce, hereby makes the following amending Price
Order:

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1269, and shall
    be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 1267*
    (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).
  2. This Order shall come into force on the 30th day of July,
  3. The principal Order is hereby amended by omitting from
    paragraph (c) of subclause (1) of clause 4 the figure "1s. 2d.", and
    substituting the figure "1s. 0½d."
    Dated at Wellington, this 26th day of July, 1951.

Sir,
With reference to my despatch of the 12th September,
1950, Circular B, No. 16, I have the honour to transmit the accompanying copies of a circular issued by the Nobel Committee of the Norwegian Parliament regarding nominations for the Nobel Prize for 1952.
It would be appreciated if the conditions of the Prize could be made known to those bodies and persons who are qualified to nominate candidates.

NOBEL PEACE PRIZE

All proposals of candidates for the Noble Peace Prize, which is to be distributed December 10th, 1952, must, in order to be taken into consideration, be laid before the Nobel Committee of the Norwegian Parliament by a duly qualified person before the first of February of the same year.
Any one of the following persons is held to be duly qualified:
(a) Members and late members of the Nobel Committee of the Norwegian Parliament, as well as the advisers appointed at the Norwegian Nobel Institute; (b) Members of Parliament and Members of Government of the different States, as well as Members of the Interparliamentary Union; (c) Members of the International Arbitration Court at the Hague; (d) Members of the Council of the International Peace Bureau; (e) Members and Associates of the Institute of International Law; (f) University professors of Political Science and of Law, of History, and of Philosophy; and (g) Persons who have received the Nobel Peace Prize.
The Nobel Peace Prize may also be accorded to institutions or associations.
According to the Code of Statutes, § 8, the grounds upon which any proposal is made must be stated and handed in along with such papers and other documents as may be referred to.
According to § 3, every written work, to qualify for a prize, must have appeared in print.
For particulars, qualified persons are requested to apply to the Office of the Nobel Committee of the Norwegian Parliament, Drammensvei 19, Oslo.
