Hauraki Plains Drainage Area : Notice of Intention to Make and Levy Rates

Wellington, 11th July, 1951.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the Hauraki Plains Act, 1926, to make and levy on the unimproved value of all land within the district constituted under the said Act the general rates to meet maintenance costs for the period 1st April, 1951, to 31st March, 1952, as described in the Schedule hereto.
The amount of such rates will be payable in one sum on the 30th August, 1951.
The valuation roll of the district is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Room 8, First Floor, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, and a copy of same may be inspected at the Land Drainage Office of the Ministry of Works at Kerepehi at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.
SCHEDULE
Class A: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the appraiser appointed under the said Act, sixpence and eighty-one one-hundredths of a penny (6·81d.) in the pound.
Class B: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class B, threepence and eighty-nine one-hundredths of a penny (3·89d.) in the pound.
Class C: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, ninety-seven one-hundredths of a penny (0·97d.) in the pound.

Poukawa Drainage Area : Notice of Intention to Make and Levy General Rates and Notice of Amendment of Annually Recurring Special Rates

Wellington, 12th July, 1951.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, to make and levy on the unimproved value of all land within the Poukawa Drainage Area the general rates described in the First Schedule hereto, such rates being for the purpose of covering for the period from 1st April, 1951, to 31st March, 1952, the cost of administration of the said Act, including the maintenance of works constructed under the said Act in the said area.
Notice is also given that, pursuant to the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, the annually recurring special rates made and levied on the 30th March, 1933, and payable on the 30th August in each year on the unimproved value of all land within the Poukawa Drainage Area, have been amended as from the 1st April, 1951, to the amounts described in the Second Schedule hereto.
The amount of the general rates will be payable in one sum on the 30th August, 1951, together with the annually recurring special rates already made and levied.
The valuation roll and rate book of the area are open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Room 8, First Floor, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, and a copy of same may be inspected at the office of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Post-office Building, Napier, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.
FIRST SCHEDULE
GENERAL RATES
Class A: On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the person appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, sixpence and fourteen one-hundredths of a penny (6·14d.) in the pound.
Class B: On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class B, one pence and two one-hundredths of a penny (1·02d.) in the pound.
Class C: On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class C, twenty one-hundredths of a penny (0·20d.) in the pound.
SECOND SCHEDULE
SPECIAL RATES
Class A: On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the person appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, fourteen pence and fifty-two one-hundredths (14·52d.) in the pound.
Class B: On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class B, twopence and forty-two one-hundredths (2·42d.) in the pound.
Class C: On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class C, forty-eight one-hundredths (0·48d.) in the pound.

Kaitaia Drainage Area : Notice of Intention to Make and Levy General Rates

NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, to make and levy on the unimproved value of all land within the Kaitaia Town District Subdivision of the Kaitaia Drainage Area, constituted under the said Act, the general rate described in the First Schedule hereto, and on the unimproved value of all land in the subdivision of the Kaitaia Drainage Area outside the Kaitaia Town District the general rates described in the Second Schedule, such respective rates being for the purpose of meeting maintenance costs for the period from 1st April, 1951, to 31st March, 1952.
The amount of the general rates, together with the annually recurring special rates already made and levied, will be payable in one sum on 30th August, 1951.
The valuation roll of the area will be available for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Room 8, First Floor, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, and a copy of same may be inspected at the office of the Lands and Survey Department, Kaitaia, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.

On the unimproved value of all land within the Kaitaia Town District, fifty-three one-hundredths of a penny (0·53d.) in the pound.
SECOND SCHEDULE
RURAL SUBDIVISION
General Rate
Class A: On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, eighteen pence and fifty-three one-hundredths of a penny (18·53d.) in the pound.
Class B: On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class B, sixpence and forty-nine one-hundredths of a penny (6·49d.) in the pound.
Class C: On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class C, twopence and seventy-eight one-hundredths of a penny (2·78d.) in the pound.

Kaitaia Swamp Drainage Area—Penalty on Overdue Rates

Wellington, 18th July, 1951.
IN pursuance of section 76 of the Rating Act, 1925, and the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, the rate-payers within the Kaitaia Rating Area are hereby notified that 10 per cent. additional will be added to all rates for the year ending 31st March, 1951, unpaid on 3rd September, 1951.
Rates may be paid at any money-order office, or to the Collector of Rates, Lands and Survey Department, P.O. Box 2205, Auckland C. 1.

Honey Marketing Committee Election
PURSUANT to clause 13 of the Schedule to the Honey Marketing Committee Regulations 1948, notice is hereby given that the roll of those persons deemed eligible to vote for the election of one producer's representative to the Honey Marketing Committee, together with the number of votes allotted to each voter, is now open for inspection during official hours at the undermentioned offices of the Marketing Department:
Auckland, Tauranga, Gisborne, Hastings, Wellington, Nelson, Motueka, Christchurch, and Dunedin,
and also at the following post-offices:
Kaikohe, Dargaville, Kaitaia, Whangarei, Warkworth, Huntly, Hamilton, Rotorua, Te Aroha, Whakatane, Napier, Wanganui, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Levin, Masterton, Blenheim, Kaikoura, Westport, Greymouth, Hokitika, Ashburton, Geraldine, Timaru, Waimate, Oamaru, Roxburgh, Balclutha, Gore, and Invercargill.
The roll will be available for public inspection up to and including the 8th day of August, 1951.
Nomination forms may be obtained on application to any of the above offices or from the Returning Officer, P.O. Box 1500, Wellington. Nominations must be in the hands of the Returning Officer not later than midday on the 15th August, 1951, and must be accompanied by a deposit of £3.
