Amending a Proclamation Defining the Middle-line of the Sockburn-Styx Railway

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to the Public Works Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby amend the Proclamation dated the 13th day of May, 1947, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 25 of the 15th day of the same month, at page 574, defining the middle-line of the Sockburn-Styx Railway by revoking the said Proclamation in so far as it affects the middle-line defined in the First Schedule thereto between a point on the said middle-line 9 chains 50·3 links west of the point marked 5 miles on the plan marked P.W.D. 125443, referred to in the said Proclamation, and a point marked 5 miles 20 chains north of Addington on the said plan, being the point of termination of the said middle-line, and in lieu thereof do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the said portion of railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
Commencing at a point in part Lot 4, D.P. 4009, being part Rural Section 2780, Block VI, Christchurch Survey District, which point is marked 4 miles 70 chains 49·7 links on plan P.W.D. 133905, hereinafter referred to, and being 9 chains 50·3 links west of the point marked 5 miles (plan P.W.D. 125443) on the middle-line of the railway defined by a Proclamation dated the 13th day of May, 1947, and published in New Zealand Gazette No. 25 of the 15th day of the same month at page 574, and proceeding thence in an easterly direction generally for a distance of approximately 3 miles 20 chains 77·2 links and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, &c.—viz., part Lot 4, D.P. 4009, being part Rural Section 2780, Lot 6, D.P. 4009, being parts Rural Sections 2780 and 4517, Reserve 323, Reserve 946, Rural Section 496, Lot 2, D.P. 9436, being part Rural Section 4660, Lot 1, D.P. 5444, being part Rural Section 4660, Lot 2, again and Lot 3, D.P. 9436, being parts Rural Sections 4660 and 277, Lot 1, D.P. 2753, being part Rural Section 3663, all in Block VI, Christchurch Survey District, Lot 1, D.P. 571, being part Rural Section 902, Lot 2, D.P. 571, being part Rural Section 902, part Lot 3, D.P. 571, being part Rural Section 902, part Rural Section 1600, Lot 1, D.P. 12366, being part Rural Section 243, all in Block VII, Christchurch Survey District, and terminating at a point 5 miles 20 chains north of Addington on the Addington to Picton line of railway in Block VII, Christchurch Survey District, which point is marked 8 miles 11 chains 26·9 links on plan P.W.D. 133905, hereinafter referred to; including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams and watercourses. All in the Canterbury Land District; as the same is delineated by a red line on the plan marked P.W.D. 133905, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 20th day of July, 1951.

Additional Land Taken for the Massey Agricultural College in Block XV, Kairanga Survey District

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to the Public Works Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the additional land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the Massey Agricultural College; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 30th day of July, 1951.
SCHEDULE
Approximate area of the piece of additional land taken: 26 acres and 10·1 perches.
Being part Section 203, Township of Fitzherbert, and being the balance of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 109, folio 76 (Wellington Land Registry).
Situated in Block XV, Kairanga Survey District.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 19th day of July, 1951.

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to the Public Works Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the additional land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for a police-station; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 30th day of July, 1951.

Approximate area of the piece of additional land taken: 1 rood 16·5 perches.
Being part Lot 2, D.P. 1550, being part Rural Section 7103.
Situated in Block IV, Patiti Survey District (Canterbury R.D.). (S.O. 8263.)
In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 132897, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured orange.

Easement Taken for Sanitary Works in Block I, Waiopehu Survey District, Horowhenua County

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to the Public Works Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that an easement over the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for sanitary works, vesting in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Levin full and free liberty and licence and authority from time to time to make and construct and lay down and forever to maintain and use a line or lines of sewerage pipes of such size or sizes as may from time to time be reasonably required through and under the said land, and to use such pipes for the purpose of conveying sewage, such pipes to be laid at a depth of not less than 2 feet below the surface of the land; and vesting in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Levin full and free right and liberty for itself, its surveyors, workmen, agents, employees, and licensees either with or without implements, tools, machinery, material, and other things to enter upon the said lands and to erect machinery and other erections thereon for the purpose of laying the said pipes, and to break up and sink, make excavations, construct and refill trenches and shafts on the said lands, and to open up, remove, and replace the said pipes or any of them as often as occasion shall require for the purpose of inspecting, amending, renewing, or repairing the said pipes and maintaining the same in good and satisfactory repair, order, and condition; and for any of the purposes aforesaid to install cleaning-boxes and cleaning-eyes along the respective lines of pipes at such intervals as the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Levin may think necessary; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 30th day of July, 1951.
