Lemon Marketing Regulations.—Notice Fixing Prices of Certain Grades

Wellington, 31st January, 1951.
PURSUANT to regulation 19 of the Lemon Marketing Regulations 1946, I hereby fix the following prices per loose bushel to be paid by the Marketing Department for lemons delivered to the Department during the undermentioned period.

Fixing Date on Which Certain Returns Under the Fire Services Act, 1949, are to be Furnished

PURSUANT to section 52 of the Fire Services Act, 1949, it is hereby notified that the returns showing the total gross amount of premiums received by or due to fire-insurance companies during the year ended 31st December, 1950, shall be transmitted to the Fire Service Council in the manner prescribed by the said section on or before the 28th day of February, 1951.

Hauraki Plains Drainage District.—Penalty on Overdue Rates

Wellington, 25th January, 1951.
IN pursuance of section 76 of the Rating Act, 1925, and the Hauraki Plains Act, 1926, the ratepayers within the district constituted by the last-mentioned Act are hereby notified that 10 per cent. additional will be added to all rates for the year ending 31st March, 1951, unpaid on 2nd February, 1951.
Rates may be paid at any money-order office or to the Collector of Rates, Lands and Survey Department, P.O. Box 2205, Auckland C.1.

Notice of Intention to Take Land in Block XIV, Whangarei Survey District, for Road
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for road: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Whangarei and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for scenic purposes: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Bruce Bay and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Agreement for Grant of Easement in Favour of Colet Stanley Bennett, of Ruapuna, Farmer, Over Road and Railway Reserve in Block XV, Alford Survey District, Assented to
WHEREAS portion of the Rangitata Diversion Race has been constructed over Rural Section 31078, Block XV, Alford Survey District, being part of the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title, Volume 399, folio 193, Canterbury Land Registry :
And whereas it is intended to take the land occupied by the race, containing approximately 10 acres 1 rood, being part of the above-described land, by Proclamation under the Public Works Act, 1928 :
And whereas Colet Stanley Bennett, of Ruapuna, Farmer, is entitled to compensation for damage arising or resulting from the construction and operation of the above race :
And whereas by an agreement dated the 26th day of September, 1950, the Minister of Works agreed to grant to the said Colet Stanley Bennett an easement over road and railway reserve in Block XV, Alford Survey District, to provide for a supply of water to the area of his land severed by the race in part satisfaction of the compensation aforesaid and to provide a sum of money in satisfaction of the residue of the said compensation :
And whereas the said Colet Stanley Bennett has agreed to accept such grant of easement and sum of money in full satisfaction of the said compensation :
Now, therefore, the Minister of Works doth hereby give notice, pursuant to section 97 of the Public Works Act, 1928, that he assents to the agreement hereinbefore referred to.

Exemption Order Under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations, so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply :—
A motor-driver's licence issued under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment on a farm or market-garden of the employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.
