Price Order No. 1259 (Amendment No. 3 of Price Order No. 1218)
(Main Crop Potatoes)
PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal,
acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and
Commerce, hereby makes the following amending Price Order :—
-
This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1259, and shall
be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 1218*
(hereinafter referred to as the principal Order). -
This Order shall come into force on the 29th day of June,
-
(1) This Order applies with respect to all potatoes which,
being subject to the principal Order, are sold by a grower for
delivery at any time after the commencement of this Order and
on or before the 30th day of November, 1951.
(2) For the purposes of this Order no potatoes sold on the
basis of f.o.b.s.e. or f.o.r.s.e. shall be deemed to be delivered to
the purchaser after the commencement of this Order if—
(a) In the case of sales f.o.b.s.e. the vessel on which the potatoes
are laden leaves the port of shipment at any time before
midnight on the 28th day of June, 1951; or
(b) In the case of sales f.o.r.s.e. the trucks on which the potatoes
are laden leave the grower’s station at any time before
midnight of the said date.
(3) Except as provided in the last preceding subclause, potatoes
sold f.o.b.s.e. or f.o.r.s.e. shall be deemed to be delivered to the
purchaser after the commencement of this Order notwithstanding
that they may have been actually laden on board any vessel or
trucks before the commencement of this Order.
MODIFICATION OF PRINCIPAL ORDER WITH RESPECT TO POTATOES
THAT ARE SUBJECT TO THIS ORDER
- Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the principal
Order the maximum price that may be charged by any grower for
any potatoes to which this Order applies shall be determined in
accordance with the following scale, namely :—
(a) For Sutton’s Supreme or King Edward potatoes grown in
the South Island and sold for delivery—

(Australian Wheat)
PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal,
acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and
Commerce, hereby makes the following amending Price Order :—

This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1257, and
shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 1207*
(hereinafter referred to as the principal Order). -
This Order shall come into force on the 28th day of June,

The table to clause 10 of the principal Order as substituted
by Price Order No. 1231,† is hereby amended by omitting the
figures “ 13s. 2¾d.”, “ 13s. 7d.”, “ 13s. 10¼d.”, “ 13s. 11¾d.”, and
“ 14s. 1¼d.” where they appear opposite the word “ New Plymouth ”,
and substituting the figures “ 13s. 3¼d.”, “ 13s. 7½d.”, “ 13s. 11d.”,
“ 14s.”, and “ 14s. 2d.” respectively.

Price Order No. 1260 (Cotton-wool)
PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price
Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Indus-
tries and Commerce, hereby makes the following Price Order :—
- This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1260; and
shall come into force on the 28th day of June, 1951.
APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER
- This Order applies with respect to all cotton-wool manu-
factured and packed in New Zealand.
FIXING MAXIMUM PRICES OF COTTON-WOOL TO WHICH THIS ORDER
APPLIES
Manufacturer’s Prices
- (1) The maximum price that may be charged or received
by the manufacturer for any cotton-wool to which this Order
applies shall be determined as follows :—
(a) Where the sale is made to a hospital (whether public or
private) or to a wholesaler for resale by him to a
hospital the maximum price shall be 7s. 4½d. per pound
free on rail Foxton.
(b) Where the sale is made to a wholesaler for resale by him
to a retailer the maximum price shall be :—

any wholesaler for any cotton-wool to which this Order applies
shall be determined as follows :—
(a) Where the sale is made to a hospital (whether public or
private) the maximum price shall be 7s. 6¼d. per pound
free on rail Foxton.
(b) Where the sale is made to a retailer the maximum price
shall be :—

PROVISION FOR SPECIAL PRICES
- Notwithstanding anything in the foregoing provisions
of this Order and subject to such conditions, if any, as it thinks
fit, the Tribunal, on application by the manufacturer or by any
wholesaler or retailer, may authorize special prices in respect of
any goods to which this Order applies where special circumstances
exist or for any reason extraordinary charges (freight or otherwise)
are incurred by the manufacturer or by the wholesaler or retailer.
Any authority given by the Tribunal under this clause may apply
with respect to a specified lot or consignment of goods or may
relate generally to all goods to which this Order applies sold by
the manufacturer or by the wholesaler or retailer while the approval
remains in force.

PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price
Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of
Industries and Commerce, hereby makes the following Price Order :—
PRELIMINARY
-
This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1258, and shall
come into force on the 2nd day of July, 1951. -
Price Order No. 1243* is hereby revoked in its application
to orders accepted for delivery in the July–September, 1951, cycle,
or succeeding cycles.
