Allocating Land Taken for a Railway to the Purposes of a Road at Fordell

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of land taken for the purposes of the Foxton – New Plymouth Railway, and it is considered desirable to allocate such land to the purposes of a road :

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section 226 of the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a road, and that the said road shall be under the control of the Wanganui County Council and shall be maintained by the said Council in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Council.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land :—

1 1 27·4 Part Railway land in Memorial of Proclamation 21843, being part Section 248, Left Bank Wanganui River; coloured blue.
5 1 13·9 Parts Railway land in Memorials of Proclamations 20339 and 21843, being part Section 248, Left Bank Wanganui River; coloured orange.

All situated in Block XII, Ikitara Survey District (Wanganui County). (S.O. 22243.)

In the Wellington Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 10896, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 19th day of June, 1951.

A PROCLAMATION

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the Wellington–Foxton Railway.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken : 33 acres 1 rood 29 perches.

Being part Native Land Court Subdivision Paekakariki No. 2B 2.

Situated in Block VIII, Paekakariki Survey District, Hutt County. (W.D. 3836.)

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 10923, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 14th day of June, 1951.
