APPLICATION having been made to me for the issue of a new Certificate of Title in the name of WILLIAM FLETCHER of Wairoa, Contractor (now deceased), for two (2) roods and decimal sixteen (0·16) of a perch, more or less, situate in the Borough of Wairoa, being Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 4664, which said parcel of land is part of Suburban Section 35, Class 1, Township of Clyde, and being all the land in Certificate of Title, H.B., Volume 30, folio 80; and evidence having been lodged of the loss or destruction of the said certificate of title, I hereby give notice that I will issue the new certificate of title as requested after fourteen days from the date of the Gazette containing this notice.

PRIVATE BILL


In the matter of the Standing Orders of the General Assembly of New Zealand relating to private Bills and in the matter of a Private Bill intituled the ELIZA WHITE ORPHANAGE TRUST BILL, 1951.

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of the Standing Orders of the Parliament of New Zealand relating to Private Bills, that application will be made to the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled at its next ensuing session on behalf of the trustees of the Will of ELIZA WHITE, late of Christchurch, Widow, for leave to introduce a Bill to be intituled “An Act to incorporate the Trustees of the Will of ELIZA WHITE, late of Christchurch, Widow, and to vest St. JOSEPH’S ORPHANAGE in the Roman Catholic Bishop of Christchurch and to extend the powers of the said Trustees.”

The objects of the Bill are—

(1) To vest in the Roman Catholic Bishop of Christchurch the property known as the St. Joseph’s Orphanage, being all that parcel of land containing eleven acres two roods twenty-five perches (11 ac. 2 ro. 25 per.), situate in Block XIV of the Christchurch Survey District, being Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 9989, part Rural Section 141, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title, Volume 432, folio 90, and the buildings and other improvements standing thereon and the chattels used in connection therewith upon the trusts created and declared by the Will of ELIZA WHITE, late of Christchurch, Widow, modified as therein appearing.

(2) To incorporate a Board of Management to take over the remaining assets of the estate of the said ELIZA WHITE from the present trustees thereof and to administer the same in accordance with the trusts of the said Will.

(3) To provide for the costs and expenses of the promotion of the said Bill.

(4) To declare the Bill to be a private Bill.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE


Takapau Fire Brigade Loan 1950, £700

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, The Waipawa County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest and other charges on a loan of seven hundred pounds (£700) authorized to be raised by the Waipawa County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing the assets of the Takapau Volunteer Fire Brigade, the said Waipawa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eighty-five ten-thousandths (⁸⁵⁄₁₀₀₀₀) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the County of Waipawa; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and shall be payable yearly on the first day of January in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Waipawa County Council on Monday, the 14th day of May, 1951.
