HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased, in terms of section 10 of the Urban Farm Land Rating Act, 1932, to appoint

Herbert John Walmsley Scott, Esquire, Farmer, of Putaruru,

to be a member of the Assessment Court for the Borough of Putaruru; and also to appoint

Cyril Key Hanham, Esquire, Stock and Station Agent, of Putaruru,

on the recommendation of the Putaruru Borough Council, to be a member of the said Assessment Court.

Revocation of Appointment of Certain Garage Proprietors for Issue of Warrants of Fitness

IN terms of regulation 11 of the Traffic Regulations 1936, and all other powers enabling me in that behalf, I, William Stanley Goosman, Minister of Transport, do hereby revoke the approval of the person and/or firm described in the Schedule hereto for the purpose of the issue of warrants of fitness for motor-vehicles.

Ernest Arthur Gould

to be Deputy Registrar of the Magistrate's Court at Marton for the purposes of the Magistrates' Court Act, 1947, and Maintenance Officer at the Magistrate's Court at Marton for the purpose of the Destitute Persons Amendment Act, 1926, on and from the 13th day of June, 1951.

Edgar Alfred Sawyer

to be Maintenance Officer at the Magistrate's Court at Wanganui for the purposes of the Destitute Persons Amendment Act, 1926, on and from the 13th day of June, 1951.

Notice Under the National Savings Act, 1940, Section 4

Wellington, 11th May, 1951.

IN terms of section 4 of the National Savings Act, 1940, I, Sidney George Holland, Minister of Finance, hereby prescribe that the twelfth investment period shall run from the 30th June, 1951, to the 30th June, 1952.

The rate of interest to be paid on investments made during such investment period shall be 3 per cent.

Moneys invested during such investment period by deposit in an investment account shall be repayable on the 30th day of June, 1954.

Provided that where interest is not withdrawn in terms of section 8 (2) of the said Act and is added to the principal moneys of the investor, such amount of interest together with interest thereon shall be payable on the 30th day of June, 1952.

National Savings Bonds issued during such investment period shall be repayable five years after the date of issue thereof.

Notice Under the National Savings Act, 1940, Section 5

Wellington, 11th May, 1951.

IN terms of section 5 of the National Savings Act, 1940, I, Sidney George Holland, Minister of Finance, hereby authorize the trustees of the undermentioned Savings Banks (being Savings Banks constituted under The Trustee Savings Banks Act, 1948) to receive investments by way of deposits in investment accounts under the National Savings Act, 1940, during the investment period expiring on the 30th June, 1952:—

Auckland Savings Bank,

New Plymouth Savings Bank,

Dunedin Savings Bank, and

Invercargill Savings Bank.

RESOLUTION

THAT, in pursuance of section 22 (1) of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950, the Council agrees to assume responsibility for the administration of the Noxious Weeds Act, as from the 1st May, 1951.
