Discontinuing at Certain Places Sittings of Magistrates' Courts in Their Criminal Jurisdiction; in Their Jurisdiction Under the Destitute Persons Act, 1910; and in Their Jurisdiction Under the Imprisonment for Debt Limitation Act, 1908

WHEREAS by an instrument dated the 15th day of December, 1948, published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 16th day of the same month at page 1541, the boroughs and places named in the Schedule hereto (hereinafter referred to as the said Schedule) were appointed together with certain cities, other boroughs, and places as boroughs and places in which Magistrates' Courts might be held for the exercise of criminal jurisdiction:
And whereas by an instrument dated the 21st day of January, 1949, published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 27th day of the same month at page 114, the Magistrates' Courts held in the boroughs and places in the said Schedule and in other boroughs and places were authorized to deal with matters arising under the Destitute Persons Act, 1910, or under any rules or regulations made under that Act:
And whereas by an instrument dated the 18th day of January, 1950, published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 26th day of the same month at page 55, the Magistrates' Courts held in the boroughs and places in the said Schedule and in other boroughs and places were authorized to deal with matters arising under the Imprisonment for Debt Limitation Act, 1908, or under any rules made as respects Magistrates' Courts pursuant to section 2 of that Act.:
And whereas it is expedient to revoke the appointments and authorizations in respect of the boroughs and places in the said Schedule:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting pursuant to subsection (5) of section 4 of the Magistrates' Courts Act, 1947, do hereby revoke the appointments and authorizations in respect of the boroughs and places in the said Schedule and do declare that this revocation shall take effect on and after the 31st day of May, 1951.

Discontinuing at Ruatoria and Winton Sittings of the Magistrates' Courts in Their Civil Jurisdiction

WHEREAS by an instrument dated the 15th day of December, 1948, published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 16th day of the same month at page 1542, the place of Ruatoria and the Borough of Winton were appointed together with certain cities, other boroughs, and places as a place and borough respectively in which Magistrates' Courts might be held for the exercise of civil jurisdiction:
And whereas it is expedient to revoke the said appointments:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting pursuant to subsection (5) of section 4 of the Magistrates' Courts Act, 1947, do hereby revoke the appointments in respect of the aforesaid place of Ruatoria and Borough of Winton and do declare that this revocation shall take effect on and after the 31st day of May, 1951.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 22nd day of May, 1951.

Officers Authorized to Take and Receive Statutory Declarations

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by section 301 of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons whose names are set out in the Schedule hereto, being officers in the service of the Crown holding the offices stated opposite their names respectively in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under section 301 of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

Authorizing Magistrates' Courts at Ruatoria and Winton to Deal With Matters Under the Destitute Persons Act, 1910, and the Imprisonment for Debt Limitation Act, 1908

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 4 of the Magistrates' Courts Act, 1947, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the Magistrates' Courts at Ruatoria and Winton to deal with matters arising under the Destitute Persons Act, 1910, or under any rules or regulations made under that Act, and with matters arising under the Imprisonment for Debt Limitation Act, 1908, or under any rules as respects Magistrates' Courts pursuant to section 2 of that Act, and I do declare that this authorization shall have effect on and after the 1st day of June, 1951.

Notice Cancelling Rimu Mining Reserve

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 20 of the Mining Act, 1926, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the notice dated the 9th day of April, 1913, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 17th day of April, 1913, setting apart certain unoccupied Crown lands within the Westland Mining District for mining purposes exclusively, in so far as the said notice applies to the lands described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Westland Land District, Westland County, containing by admeasurement 360 acres, more or less, being the balance of Reserve 1462, New Zealand Gazette 1913, p. 1370, situated in Blocks V and IX, Kaniere Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: To the west by the eastern boundary of part Reserve 1623, State Forest, New Zealand Gazette 1934, p. 1387, and part Reserve 1623, Provisional State Forest, New Zealand Gazette 1920, p. 2841, to the south and east by the northern and western boundaries of part Reserve 1462, State Forest, New Zealand Gazette 1920, p. 2788, and to the north by Crown land and road reserve.
As the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked 6/8/4, and deposited with the Head Office, Mines Department, Wellington, and thereon edged red. (S.O. 1595.)

PURSUANT to section 17 of the Electric Power Boards Act, 1925, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Fred Samuel Edwards, Esquire, Retired, of Arrowtown, to be the representative of the Borough of Arrowtown on the Otago Central Electric-power Board.
