Plants Declared to be Noxious Weeds in the Waimate West County.—(Notice No. Ag. 5021)

THE following special order, made by the Waimate West County Council on the 9th May, 1951, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950.

SPECIAL ORDER

THAT, pursuant to section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950, the Waimate West County Council resolves, by way of special order, that the plants named in the Schedule hereunder shall be deemed to be noxious weeds within the County of Waimate West as and from 1st June, 1951.

SCHEDULE

Barberry (Berberis vulgaris).
Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus).
Burdock (Arctium, any species).
Californian thistle, Canadian thistle or creeping thistle (Cirsium arvense).
Common broom (Cytisus scoparius).
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare).
Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea).
Gorse (Ulex, any species).
Hemlock (Conium maculatum).
Lupin (Lupinus arboreus).
Milk thistle or variegated thistle (Silybum marianum).
Nodding thistle (Carduus nutans).
Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea).
Russian knapweed (Centaurea repens).
Saffron thistle (Carthamus lanatus).
Winged thistle (Carduus tenuiflorus and Carduus pycnocephalus).

THE following special order, made by the Tauranga County Council on the 7th day of May, 1951, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950.

SPECIAL ORDER

THAT pursuant to the provisions of section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950, the Tauranga County Council hereby declares, by way of Special Order, that all of the plants mentioned or included in the First Schedule to the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950, are noxious weeds within the Tauranga County.

THE following resolution, passed by the Kawhia County Council on the 9th day of May, 1951, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950.

RESOLUTION

PURSUANT to section 22 (1) of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950, that the Kawhia County Council assume, and hereby does assume, responsibility for the administration of the said Act within its district as from the 15th day of May, 1951.

THAT the Waimate County Council, in pursuance of section 22 of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950, hereby assumes responsibility for the administration of that Act within the County of Waimate as from the 1st day of May, 1951.

RESOLUTION

THAT the Manawatu County Council resolves to assume responsibility for the administration of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950, as from the 1st April, 1951.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Revocation of Notice Declaring Land Taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 32 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, the Minister of Lands doth hereby revoke the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 36 on the 3rd day of May, 1951, at page 617, declaring that the land described in the Schedule hereto is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman.

SCHEDULE

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that piece of land containing two hundred and seventy-three (273) acres twenty-four (24) perches, more or less, being part Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 16097, part Allotment 230, Parish of Koma-korau, and part Allotment 349, Parish of Kirikiriroa, being all the land in Certificate of Title, Volume 891, folio 235 (Auckland Registry).

As witness my hand this 15th day of May, 1951.

Declaring Parts of a Tribal District to be Tribal Committee Areas Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945, I, Ernest Bowyer Corbett, Minister of Maori Affairs, do hereby declare the parts of the tribal district described in the Schedule hereto to be tribal committee areas for the purposes of the said Act, and do hereby assign to each of the several areas the name appearing at the head of the description of each such area.

SCHEDULE

MANGATOATOA TRIBAL DISTRICT

Ngati Unu-Ngawaeru Tribal Committee Area

ALL that area bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Waipa River in line with the southern boundary of Section 18, Block XVI, Pirongia Survey District; thence proceeding north-easterly along a right line in the direction of the confluence of the Mangatutu Stream and the Puniu River to its intersection with the middle of the Main Trunk Railway; thence north-easterly and northerly along the middle of that railway to its intersection with the southern boundary of the Te Awamutu Borough; thence westerly and northerly along the southern and western boundaries of that borough to and along the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 317, Mangapiko Parish, and its production to the middle of the Mangapiko Stream; thence westerly along a right line to the confluence of the Waipa and Puniu Rivers; thence southerly generally up the middle of the Waipa River to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 18, Block XVI, Pirongia Survey District, the point of commencement.

Rangiatea-Kaputuhi Tribal Committee Area

All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Main Trunk Railway at its intersection with a right line between a point in the middle of the Waipa River in line with the southern boundary of Section 18, Block XVI, Pirongia Survey District, and the confluence of the Mangatutu Stream and the Puniu River; thence proceeding north-easterly along the said right line to the confluence of the Mangatutu Stream and the Puniu River; thence north-westerly down the middle of the Puniu River to its confluence with the Moerika Stream; thence along a right line to the easternmost corner of Pokuru No. 3& Block in Block VI, Puniu Survey District; and its production to the middle of the Main Trunk Railway; thence south-westerly along the middle of that railway to the point of commencement.

Puniu-Hineiterangiora Tribal Committee Area

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of the Moerika Stream and the Puniu River; thence proceeding northerly generally down the middle of the Puniu River to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of the Puniu Parish; thence north-easterly to and along that boundary to the middle of the Mangaohoi Stream; thence north-westerly down the middle of that stream and the middle of the Mangapiko Stream to a point in
