Proclaiming a Tribal District Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945

A PROCLAMATION

Pursuant to section 6 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the parts of New Zealand described in the Schedule hereto to be a tribal district for the purposes of the said Act, and do hereby assign to the said district the name “Mangatoatoa Tribal District.”

SCHEDULE

MANGATOATOA TRIBAL DISTRICT

All that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Waipa River in line with the southern boundary of Section 18, Block XVI, Pirongia Survey District; thence proceeding north-easterly along a right line to the confluence of the Mangatutu Stream and the Puniu River; thence north-westerly down the middle of the Puniu River to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of the Puniu Parish; thence north-easterly to and along that boundary to the middle of the Mangaohoi Stream; thence north-westerly down the middle of that stream and the middle of the Mangapiko Stream to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 317, Mangapiko Parish, near the north-western corner of the Borough of Te Awamutu; thence westerly along a right line to the confluence of the Waipa and Puniu Rivers; thence southerly generally up the middle of the Waipa River to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 18, Block XVI, Pirongia Survey District, the point of commencement.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 21st day of May, 1951.

Partial Revocation of a Proclamation Declaring Certain Crown Land to be Subject to Part I of the Maori Land Amendment Act, 1936 (Ngataki Development Scheme)

A PROCLAMATION

Pursuant to section 5 of the Maori Purposes Act, 1939, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke a Proclamation made on the 29th day of November, 1941,

and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 4th day of December, 1941, at page 3840, and affecting Section 9, Block V, Hohoura East Survey District, and other blocks, in so far as it affects the land described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

All that area in the Mangonui County, North Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 6 perches, more or less, being part of Section 54 of Block V, Hohoura East Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked S.O. 36055, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland, and thereon edged red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 16th day of May, 1951.

Crown Land Set Apart as Permanent State Forest Land

A PROCLAMATION

By virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section 18 of the Forests Act, 1949, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as permanent State forest land.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—AUCKLAND CONSERVANCY

All that area in the North Auckland Land District, Whangarei County, containing by admeasurement 20 acres, more or less, situated in Block V, Purua Survey District, and being Allotment M. 59, Parish of Hikurangi. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 9/21, deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 19th day of May, 1951.
