NELSON CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
——
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf
by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Nelson City Council
hereby resolves as follows :—
“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £6,000, known as the ‘Sewerage Extension Loan,
1950’, authorized to be raised by the Nelson City Council under the
above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing sewers in the Iwa
Road and Mill Street areas of the City of Nelson, the said Nelson City
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twenty-three five
hundred and twelfths of a penny (5²³⁄₁₂d.) in the pound upon the rate-
able value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable
property of the City of Nelson, comprising the whole of the said city,
and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during
the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 23rd day of
July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being
a period of twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution
passed by the Nelson City Council at a meeting held on the 1st day
of May, 1951.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies
has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act, 1909,
by writing under his hand dated this 3rd day of May, 1951, cancelled
the registry of Court Pride of Awanui, No. 10051, of the Auckland
District Branch of the Ancient Order of Foresters of New Zealand
Friendly Society, No. 356 (Register No. 356 (2) 54), held at Awanui,
on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
——
Waterworks Supply Main and Filtration Plant Loan, 1948, £100,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and amendments,
and all other powers in that behalf thereunto enabling it, the
Palmerston North City Council doth hereby resolve as follows :—
“ That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest,
and other charges on a loan of £100,000, authorized to be raised
by the Palmerston North City Council under the above-mentioned
Act, for the purpose of laying a 21-inch-diameter water main and
to construct, where required, pipe bridges to carry the same and
to install a new filtration plant and the erection of attendant’s
cottage and the purchase of land for same, the said Palmerston
North City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of sixteen
twenty-fifths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all
rateable property in the City of Palmerston North, comprising the
whole of the City of Palmerston North, and that such special rate
shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan
and be payable yearly on the 1st day of May in each and every year
during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years
or until the loan is fully paid off.”
The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the
Palmerston North City Council held on the 23rd day of April, 1951.

NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of the Gisborne Saw-
milling and Building Company, Limited, will be held on
Monday, the 21st day of May, 1951, at which a resolution for
voluntary winding-up is to be proposed, and that a meeting of the
creditors of the said company will be held, pursuant to section 234
of the Companies Act, 1933, at Low’s Tea Rooms, Gisborne, on
Monday, the 21st day of May, 1951, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon,
at which meeting a full statement of the position of the company’s
affairs, together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount
of their claims, will be laid before the meeting and at which meeting
the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act, may
nominate a person to be liquidator of the company, and in pursuance
of section 236 of the said Act, may appoint a committee of inspection.
