N.Z. FOREST SERVICE NOTICE

Sale of Logs by Public Tender.—Southland Conservancy.—Otago Land District

THE Conservator of Forests, Invercargill, will receive tenders for the purchase of an annual supply of not less than 150,000 cubic feet, nor more than 200,000 cubic feet, of logs of exotic pine species, mainly P. radiata, which will be produced in the Naseby State Forest situated in Blocks V and VI, Naseby Survey District, Otago Land District. Tenders, which must be in writing and accompanied by a cheque to yield £100, will be received at the office of the Conservator of Forests, Invercargill, not later than 1 p.m. on the 28th June, 1951. Envelope to be marked “Tender only”.

Tenderers will be required to offer a price per cubic foot for logs which will be sold on the ground at loading-sites in the forest in lengths from 8 feet to 60 feet.

Upset Price: The upset price, which is based on sawn-timber prices ruling at the 15th February, 1951, is 8·5d. per cubic foot.

Period of Sale: Ten years from 3rd September, 1952, or such earlier date as may be mutually arranged with a right of renewal for a further period of 10 years.

The highest or any tender not necessarily accepted.
