day of March, 1951.

to be State Fire Insurance General Manager for the purposes of
the State Fire Insurance Act, 1908, on and from the 1st day of
April, 1951.

George Frederick Whitlock
to be District Public Trustee for the district of Lower Hutt for the
purposes of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921-22, on
and from the 1st day of April, 1951.

Plants Declared to be Noxious Weeds in Inglewood County.—(Notice No. Ag. 4983)

THE following Special Order made by the Inglewood County
Council on the 14th March, 1951, is published in accordance
with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950.

SPECIAL ORDER

"That, pursuant to the provisions of section 3 of the Noxious
Weeds Act, 1950, the Inglewood County Council resolves by way
of special order that the plants set out in the Schedule hereto (being
plants listed in the Schedule to the aforesaid Act) are hereby declared
to be noxious weeds within the County of Inglewood as from the
1st day of April, 1951.

"SCHEDULE

" Barberry (Berberis vulgaris).
" Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus).
" Common Broom (Cytisus scoparius).
" Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare).
" Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea).
" Gorse (Ulex, any species).
" Hemlock (Conium maculatum).
" Pussy willow (Salix discolor).
" Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea).
" St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum).
" Silver Poplar (Populus alba var. nivea).

" Winged thistle (Carduus tenuiflorus and Carduus pycnocephalus)."

THE following Special Order made by the Stratford County
Council on the 16th day of March, 1951, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950.

SPECIAL ORDER

"THAT, pursuant to the provisions of section 3, subsections (1) and
(3) of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950, the Stratford County Council
resolves by way of special order that the following weeds shall be
deemed to be noxious weeds within the County of Stratford :—

" Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus) ;
" Hemlock (Conium maculatum) ;
" Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea) ; and
" Silver Poplar (Populus alba var. nivea) ;

and further, that the Special Order shall take effect as from 1st
April, 1951."

THE following Special Order made by the Dunedin City Council
on the 19th day of March, 1951, is published in accordance
with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950.

SPECIAL ORDER

" 'THAT the following resolution to operate as a Special Order passed
by the City Council at a special meeting convened for the purpose
and held on Monday, the 5th day of February, 1951, viz :—

" 'That, pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Corporations
Act, 1933, the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950, and all other powers in
that behalf enabling it, the Dunedin City Council hereby resolves,
so that this resolution may subsequently be confirmed to operate
as a Special Order, that the plants set out in the schedule hereto
be and the same are hereby declared to be noxious weeds within
the City of Dunedin on and after the 1st April, 1951 :—

" 'Hemlock (Conium maculatum),
" 'Broom (Cytisus scoparius),
" 'Elderberry (Sambucus nigra),
" 'Gorse (ulex, any species),
" 'Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus),
" 'Sweetbrier (Rosa eglanteria, Rosa rubiginosa),
" 'Californian or Canadian thistle (Cirsium arvense),
" 'Ragwort or ragweed (Senecio jacobaea),

be and the said resolution is hereby confirmed as a Special Order.' "

Lemon Marketing Regulations.—Notice Fixing Prices of Certain Grades

Wellington, 29th March, 1951.

PURSUANT to regulation 19 of the Lemon Marketing Regulations, 1946, I hereby fix the following prices per loose bushel
to be paid by the Marketing Department for lemons delivered to
the Department during the undermentioned period.

Period of delivery (both days inclusive) : 1st April to 30th
April, 1951 :—

The Servicemen's Settlement Act, 1950.—Notice Declaring an Interest in Land Taken for Settlement of Discharged Servicemen

WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of
the Land Valuation Court to a transaction which relates
to the land described in the Schedule hereto, and to which Part II
of the Servicemen's Settlement Act, 1950, applies :

And whereas the purchaser of the said land is neither a discharged serviceman nor a child or grandchild of the vendor :

And whereas the Land Valuation Committee to which the
said application was referred, not being satisfied that the Crown
had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the
interest of the licensee in the said land, did on the 8th day of March,
1951, adjourn the said application :

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance
of section 36 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the interest
of the licensee in the said land is taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 26th day of April, 1951,
as the date on which the said interest shall be deemed to be vested
in His Majesty the King.
