Exemption Order Under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply :—

A motor-driver's licence issued under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment on a farm or market-garden of the employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Classification of Roads in Manunui Town District

PURSUANT to regulation 3 (5) of the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations 1950, the Minister of Transport doth hereby alter the Manunui Town Board's proposed classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Manunui Town District and doth hereby approve such altered classification as described in the said Schedule.

Agreement for Grant of Easement (Right-of-way) in Favour of Alfred Buckland and Sons, Limited, a duly Incorporated Company, Having its Registered Office at Auckland, Over Land in the Borough of Pukekohe, Taken for a Dehydration Factory, Assented to

WHEREAS by an agreement dated the 22nd day of December, 1948, Alfred Buckland and Sons, Limited, a duly incorporated company, having its registered office at Auckland, agreed to His Majesty the King taking, under the Public Works Act, 1928, areas of land totalling approximately 6 acres 2 roods 10·8 perches, being parts Allotment 16, and part Allotment 82, Parish of Pukekohe, on D.P. 13805, and part Allotment 39, Parish of Pukekohe, Block XV, Drury Survey District, for a Dehydration Factory :

And Whereas the said company is entitled to receive compensation for its freehold interest in the said area :

And Whereas the Minister of Works has agreed to grant to the said company a right-of-way over the aforesaid area in addition to the payment of a sum of money in full satisfaction of the compensation aforesaid :

And Whereas the said company has agreed to accept such Grant of Easement in addition to the sum of money in full satisfaction of the said compensation :

Now, therefore, the Minister of Works doth hereby give notice, in pursuance of section 97 of the Public Works Act, 1928, that he assents to the agreement hereinbefore referred to.

Notice of Intention to Take Land in Block II, Otahuhu Survey District, for a Fire-station

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, and section 71 of the Fire Services Act, 1949, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a fire-station—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Panmure and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

1 acre 6·3 perches.

Being Allotment 5, Section 1, Village of Panmure.

Situated in Block II, Otahuhu Survey District (Auckland R.D.).

In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 133070, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice Declaring Land Taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman

———

WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Valuation Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies :

And whereas the Land Valuation Committee to which the application has been referred is of the opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman :

And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 1st day of December, 1950, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court :

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship :

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 1st day of March, 1951, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land situated in Block VI, Otamatea Survey District, containing by admeasurement four hundred and forty (440) acres three (3) roods ten (10) perches, more or less, being part of Nukuroa Number 1f 1 Block and being all of the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title, Volume 859, folio 100 (Auckland Registry), excepting thereout that part shown as Lot 2 on a plan lodged in the Land Registry Office at Auckland under number 37299.

Also all that parcel of land situated in Block VI, Otamatea Survey District, containing by admeasurement twenty-eight (28) acres two (2) roods ten (10) perches, more or less, being Lot 1 on a plan lodged in the Land Registry Office at Auckland under number 37299, being part of Nukuroa Number 2A Block and being part of the land comprised and described in Provisional Register, Volume 197, folio 45 (Auckland Registry).

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO RAISE A LOAN

I HAVE to advise you that pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, at a poll of ratepayers of the Riding of Ranfurly, taken on the 7th day of December, 1950, on the proposal of the Maniototo County Council to borrow the sum of fifteen thousand eight hundred pounds (£15,800) for the purpose of constructing water works and providing a domestic water supply for the Township of Ranfurly, the voting was :—

Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was .. 126
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 10
The number of informal votes was .. .. .. .. 1

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
