Member of Board of Trustees of the National Art Gallery and Dominion Museum Appointed

HIS Excellency the Governor-General in Council has been pleased to appoint the following person to be a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Art Gallery and Dominion Museum, pursuant to section 2 (1) (f) of the National Art Gallery and Dominion Museum Amendment Act, 1936 :—

as representing the Wellington Branch of the New Zealand Institute of Architects, for a term of three years from the 11th day of November, 1949.

Appointment of Honorary Fishery Officer
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 29 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1946, I, William Stanley Goosman, Minister of Marine, do hereby appoint
George Poulter Spence, of Ross,
to be an Honorary Fishery Officer for the purposes of Part I of the Fisheries Act, 1908, to hold office until the 31st day of March, 1950.

The Master and Apprentice Act, 1908, and its Amendments.—Notice Declaring the State Hydro-electric Department to be a Department in Which Apprentices May be Taken
NOTICE is hereby given that, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Master and Apprentice Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Minister of Labour doth hereby declare that the arts and trades used and exercised in the Department mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be deemed to be arts and trades within the meaning of Part II of the Master and Apprentice Act, 1908, and that the officer named in the said Schedule shall be deemed to be the master for the purposes of the said Part II of the said Act.

State Hydro-electric Department.
Name of officer to whom persons shall be apprenticed :—
The Electrical Engineer for the State Hydro-electric Department district in which the apprentice is employed.

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of Intention to Take Lands
THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 1st June, 1950, as the date on which possession of the land is required, and the 28th February, 1950, as the date on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land situated in Block II, Rangitaiki Upper Survey District, containing by admeasurement one hundred and nine (109) acres one (1) rood twenty-two decimal eight (22·8) perches, more or less, being Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 16781, being part of Allotment 136A, Matata Parish, and being the whole of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 653, folio 265 (Auckland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land situated in Block VII, Rangitaiki Upper Survey District, containing by admeasurement one hundred and twenty-eight (128) acres three (3) roods four (4) perches, more or less, being part of Allotment 87, Rangitaiki Parish, and being the whole of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 604, folio 92 (Auckland Registry).

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notices of Intention to Take Land
THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, as extended by the provisions of section 2 of the Servicemen's Settlement and Lands Sales Amendment Act, 1948, hereby gives notice of his intention to take under Part II of the said Act, the interest of the lessee in the land described in the Schedule hereto, and specifies the 31st day of May, 1950, as the date on which possession of the land described in the said Schedule is required and the 18th day of March, 1950, as the date on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement three (3) acres three (3) roods twenty (20) perches, more or less, being Section 2, Block VI, Takapau Survey District, and being all of the land described in the deferred-payment licence comprised in Register-book, Vol. 724, folio 14 (Auckland Registry).
