APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE FOR A WATER-RACE
TAKE notice that Egbert Sainsbury, of Skippers, Miner, has made application for a licence for a water-race commencing in the Two Mile Creek, Queenstown, 300 yards upstream from the traffic bridge across the Two Mile Creek, and thence 100 feet across unalienated Crown lands, and thence across applicant's freehold property, across the Two Mile Road, and thence across applicant's freehold property terminating at applicant's house, for half a head of water for the purposes of irrigation, domestic, and driving machinery. The term of the proposed licence is 21 years.

NOTICE is hereby given that Court City of Auckland, No. 3978 of the Ancient Order of Foresters, Friendly Society, Register No. 340, held at Auckland, is dissolved by instrument, registered at this office, the 12th day of December, 1950, unless, within three months from the date of the Gazette in which this advertisement appears, proceedings be commenced by a member or other person interested in or having a claim on the funds of the Society to set aside such dissolution, and the same be set aside accordingly.

BOROUGH OF TAURANGA
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Streets Improvement Loan, £55,934, 1949
THAT in pursuance of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £55,934, authorized to be raised by the Tauranga Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of forming, metalling, and sealing streets, constructing footpaths, undertaking stormwater drainage works, and purchasing plant and machinery, the said Tauranga Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 6/4ths pence in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Tauranga; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

MATAURA BOROUGH COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and in the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Mataura Borough Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the provision and protection of a drain to River Street in the Borough of Mataura from parts of Sections 4 and 5, Block I, Town of Mataura—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, situate in McQueen Avenue, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk at the Council Chambers, McQueen Avenue.

  1. APPROXIMATE area of parcel of land required to be taken : 3-6 perches. Being part of Sections four (4) and five (5), Block one (I), Town of Mataura, coloured blue on the said plan.
  2. Approximate area of parcel of land required to be taken : 1-2 perches. Being part of Lot one (I) on Plan No. 180, being also part of Section four (4) Block one (I), Town of Mataura, coloured sepia on the said plan.
