Goods not otherwise provided for will be charged according to ship’s bill of lading or by weight or measurement, at the option of the Department.
Packages exceeding 20 cwt. in weight will be carried under special arrangements.

SOUTH ISLAND MAIN LINE AND BRANCHES

  1. Coal

Coal, in minimum wagon loads as prescribed in Regulation 78, General Scale of Charges, will be charged as follows:—

From To Rate per Ton.
Picton (ex ship) Grovetown or 13s. 7d., including wharfage,
Blenheim but not handling at Picton.
Coalgate Christchurch 9s. 7d. (coal dross only).
Glentunnel Sockburn 12s. 0d. (coal dross only).
Blackball Greymouth 6s. 9d.

These rates are applicable only to coal for shipment to Nelson, Onekaka, or Tarakohe, or ports outside the South Island, or for bunkering ships at Greymouth, and include all railway charges.
