Appointing a Member of the Engineers Registration Board

WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the 23rd day of May, 1949, and published in New Zealand Gazette No. 31 of the 26th day of May, 1949, John Gill Lancaster, Esquire, Consulting Engineer, of Wellington, was appointed a member of the Engineers Registration Board for a term of three years from the 1st day of April, 1949, pursuant to section 3 of the Engineers Registration Act, 1924: And whereas the said John Gill Lancaster has now resigned, and it is considered expedient to appoint another member in lieu of the said John Gill Lancaster: Now, therefore, the Minister of Works in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by subsection (5) of section 3 of the Engineers Registration Act, 1924, doth hereby cancel the appointment of the said John Gill Lancaster to be a member of the Engineers Registration Board and doth hereby appoint, on the recommendation of the Council of the New Zealand Institution of Engineers (Incorporated), Richard Stanley Maunder, Esquire, City Electrical Engineer, Wellington, to be a member of the Engineers Registration Board, such appointment to take effect as from the 16th day of November, 1950.

Additional Member of Domain Board Appointed

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased, in pursuance of section 46 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, to increase the total number of members of the Ngakuta Domain Board from seven to eight and to appoint

The President of the Marlborough Automobile Association, ex officio,

as the additional member thereby rendered necessary.

Prohibition of Issue of Money-orders and Transmission of Postal Correspondence

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the person whose name and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered under section 32 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, that no money-order in favour of the said person shall be issued and that no postal packet addressed to the said person (either by his own or any fictitious or assumed name) or directed to the address mentioned in the Schedule hereunder without a name shall be registered or forwarded by the post-office of New Zealand.

Declaring Parts of a Tribal District to be Tribal Committee Areas Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945, I, Ernest Bowyer Corbett, Minister of Maori Affairs, do hereby declare the parts of the tribal district described in the Schedule hereto to be tribal committee areas for the purposes of the said Act, and do hereby assign to each of the several areas the name appearing at the head of the description of each such area.


SCHEDULE

RANGIRIRI TRIBAL DISTRICT

Maurea Tribal Committee Area

ALL that area bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station 72 in Block IV, Awaroa Survey District; thence proceeding north-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station 98 in Block V, Maramarua Survey District, and a right line to the northernmost corner of Section 131, Koheroa Parish (Block I, Maramarua Survey District); thence north-easterly along a right line in the direction of Trig. Station B in Block XIV, Opaheke Survey District, to the middle line of the North Island Main Trunk Railway; thence southerly generally along the said middle line to its intersection with the production of a right line between the westernmost corner of Section 1, Block IX, Rangiriri Survey District, and the westernmost corner of Section 2, Block XI, Rangiriri Survey District; thence westerly to and along the last-mentioned right line to the westernmost corner of the said Section 1, Block IX, Rangiriri Survey District; thence northerly along a right line to Trig. Station 72, the point of commencement.

Takauwhata Tribal Committee Area

All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the middle line of the North Island Main Trunk Railway at its intersection with a right line between the northernmost corner of Section 131, Koheroa Parish, and Trig. Station B in Block XIV, Opaheke Survey District; thence proceeding north-easterly along the said right line to Trig. Station B, aforesaid; thence south-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station Kapukapu in Block XIII, Piako Survey District; thence southerly along a right line passing through Trig. Station 1229 in Block I, Hapuakohe Survey District, to its intersection with a right line between Trig. Station 2043 in Block XV, Piako Survey District, and Trig. Station 1230 in Block V, Hapuakohe Survey District; thence south-westerly along the last-mentioned right line to Trig. Station 1230, aforesaid, and along a right line to the confluence of the Mangawara Stream and the Komakorau Stream in Block IV, Newcastle Survey District; thence down the middle of the Mangawara Stream to its confluence with the Waikato River; thence northerly down the middle of that river to a point on the production of a right line between the westernmost corner of Section 1, Block IX, Rangiriri Survey District, and the westernmost corner of Section 2, Block XI, Rangiriri Survey District, being a point on the boundary of the Maurea Tribal Committee area hereinbefore described; thence northerly generally along the generally eastern boundary of that area to the point of commencement.

Taniwha Tribal Committee Area

All that area bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station B in Block XIV, Opaheke Survey District; thence proceeding north-easterly along a right line to the south-western corner of Lot 5 on the plan numbered 9284, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland; thence easterly along a right line to Trig. Station M (Puketoka) in Block XVI, Opaheke Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to the southernmost corner of Section 8, Block XII, Piako Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station 2042 (Ratawera) in Block XV, Piako Survey District, a right line to Trig. Station 2043 in Block XV, Piako Survey District, and a right line in the direction of Trig. Station 1230 in Block V, Hapuakohe Survey District, to its intersection with the production of a right line between Trig. Station Kapukapu in Block XIII, Piako Survey District, and Trig. Station 1229 in Block I, Hapuakohe Survey District; thence northerly to and along the last-mentioned right line to Trig. Station Kapukapu, aforesaid; thence north-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station B, the point of commencement.
